Not according to misterxmedia *Holding in laugh* https://twitter.com/misterx...

Abriael3526d ago

Lol, poor guy. I honestly pity him. He must be a really unhappy person...

GarrusVakarian3526d ago (Edited 3526d ago )

I also found this:

Taken from the same beta build of those screenshots he posted, I believe. Someone should tweet that to MisterX, see what he says.

"Bu...bu...but... downgrade!"

iamnsuperman3526d ago (Edited 3526d ago )

What I don't understand is what is he trying to achieve? I get the idea of seeing things that may not be there (secret sauce incident) and expecting big titles to show up but why does he have to lie about it (with insider stuff though this could be him getting fooled by an equally unhappy person).

It is a little concerning

Gazondaily3526d ago

Why does anyone pay MisterX any attention? The guy is obviously clueless so I don't get why I see people referencing his clueless ramblings.

Seriously. Why?

Gran Touring3526d ago

"I also found this:

I like how the TCS warning lights on the dash when the car loses traction. A small detail, but I don't think I've ever seen that in other racing games.

SilentNegotiator3525d ago

@Septic

Because he's so extreme, it comes off as parody and becomes funny.

My God...what a sad little man. He's more invested PS/Sony than most die-hard PS/Sony fans are. Lol. I've never seen anyone who is so obsessed with the affairs of the "opposition", that he so clearly hates, evident by his 24/7 smear campaign. It's beyond sad.

This isn't the first time he's cherry-picked footage/screenshots in order to push his agenda either. He also did it when The Order was first shown, he used a low-quality YouTube screen-grab of a certain section where the main character was heavily motion-blurred (just as he lands after jumping over a gap between buildings) and proceeded to shout his BS from the rooftops about the PS4 not being as powerful as we think. Lmao.

It's clear to anyone who has been keeping up with DC than it's had nothing but improvements since it's delay. The Canada footage and the recent Rain footage were both captured straight from a PS4, and they look much better than these screenshots. Which is to be expected. Some tracks are going to looks less flattering than others, especially in certain lighting conditions....I can't think of a single racing game where this hasn't been the case.

And going back to MisterX for a second: I love how he linked the crappiest quality screenshots that have been shown so far of DC in his tweet, choosing to totally ignore the high quality shots that Wario64 posted on GAF (I know MisterX lurks GAF religiously). I wonder why he did that?

Kayant3526d ago

Have you since the new blog post. Simply amazing

"Insider : Its coming at tgs. Psn expansion. . There using a steam model.. you will see... there going to fall on there own arguments witn drm."

"Also quick update on the hack attacks the group that we're involved in testing net works were payed for test .. there was definitely a rog operation that took place. These tests are very common but I expect more bad to come then good.. there trying very hard to hit live now.. I hear sony is going to get another round or is in the process... hacking is not good for the consumer no matter what we are told.. payed net work intrusion tests are needed hence they go under maintenance times tho.. I guess the rouges know this.. psn 3.0 coming :)"

Lmaooo what a nutcase.

OT - Game still getting these exclusives. Well I guess for something like this being the only big game shop here in the UK they would get it. That thread on Gaf is amazing especially the people still talking about it not being 60fps. You would think by now if it was such a game breaker your interest should be zero at this point with the game coming out in 2 months.

"It's clear to anyone who has been keeping up with DC than it's had nothing but improvements since it's delay." - Yep coming back to gamescom last year or even updates after the delay is amazing to see how far the game has come.

http://www.dollmytee.com/

This dude exposes MisterX's crapstorm of lies on a continual basis. It's brilliant. Basically, "insider" is MisterX - he's also been exposed as making new accounts to pretend he's someone else to give the impression that other people share his opinion. It's pathetic.

Notice the trend too. MisterX only posts updates AFTER some latest news has broken. He makes "revelations" about insider information AFTER he's read news and basically makes up things to make Sony look bad and Microsoft look good, based on this news, and pretend that he's known that stuff all along.

But.... http://www.dollmytee.com/ is there to expose him again, and again, and again! It's sad that our Russian fellow gamer is deceiving so many people, but at the same time I'm glad we have people dedicated to exposing the lies and the deceit.

Remy_Chaos3526d ago

I want this game! I want! I want!

shaw983526d ago (Edited 3526d ago )

Who needs this when you can have mario kart 8? (I have not gotten many downvotes on this site yet so this should be interesting)

Majin-vegeta3526d ago

No downvote but you do get a -bubble for being off topic C;.

OT:So close I can almost taste it.

shaw983526d ago

Noooo!!! Look at what you have done. I am butt hurt.

shaw983526d ago

Though in all seriousness. You can't compare a racing SIM to a cartoony kart racer. And with that, my final bubble is gone. Away I go!!!

gootimes3526d ago

why not just play what you enjoy and let others do the same?

Spotie3526d ago

Never been a fan of Mario Kart. I prefer actual cars.

Kurisu3526d ago

Nintendo have that sorted with the Mercedes Benz DLC ;p

MasterCornholio3526d ago

Playstation exclusives are not known to get downgrades right before launch which is why I'm not surprised.

I'm happy that the developer has been pretty honest with us.

jhoward5853526d ago (Edited 3526d ago )

DC looks fantastic. Personally, I think there are more than one reason why a DEV chooses to drown grade their game other than what most gamers think. Its not always because the gaming console doesn't have enough horse power to run it.

It could be for many reasons....

like making sure the co op functions of a game works properly among all players. Good internet hand-shaking and frame rate needs balance. Another is, all electronic need breathing space to process information smoothly. There are more factors to consider here when making a game. too many to list.

60FPS on PS5: Unofficial PS5 'FPS Boost' mods are radically improving PS4 back compat

Digital Foundry : Whether it's via FPS Boost or bespoke software upgrades, backwards compatibility on the current-gen consoles delivered an unexpected delight - the ability to liberate older console games from their 30fps limits, running them at 60 frames per second or even higher. FPS Boost did the business for Xbox Series consoles on an impressive range of titles, but there was always the sense that PS5 could do more. It's a hunch that checks out as a range of frame-rate unlocks are available for PS5, covering many must-have games - the major caveat being that only exploitable consoles running on older firmwares are invited to the party.

you love to see new life being breathed into older titles but damn the process to get there. It should be automatic that these work for everyone... not just those who exploit their systems. Really wish Sony and MS would keep this program going officially.

Psychonaut85104d ago

Damn this sucks. I want this shit so bad, but I’m not jailbreaking my console. And frankly I shouldn’t have to. I’m not a tech person, but is it really that hard for developers to unlock the framerate? Or would that have to be a large patch?

dveio104d ago (Edited 104d ago )

"but is it really that hard for developers to unlock the framerate?"

I guess it's not.

But it has become a profitable business if you do so.

So no one would pay for only the framerate patched to being unlocked. So studios need to offer more than that.

But this would take more time, polishing and would cost more money. So they shy away, but won't unlock the framerate, either.

That's just my personal assumption. But from what I can comprehend technically, it shouldn't be difficult to unlock framerates via a patch for older games.

... if it hadn't became a business.

RaidenBlack104d ago (Edited 104d ago )

frame-rate unlock should be free ...
We've seen many devs offer free patches and updates to pretty old PC titles, even bonuses ... so why can't devs offer the frame unlock patch for free (in consultation with the platform-producers) for a title from just a generation earlier?

Einhander1972104d ago

RaidenBlack

"frame-rate unlock should be free ..."

Obviously the result of that thinking is that developers aren't even going to do it.

If they had been allowed to charge $5-10 you would see incentivized developers doing it way more often.

People just always want everything for free, but it's not free to make the patch, people have to code it then other people have to test it, and there will always be other costs involved.

If people want dollar store gaming then expect to get what you pay for.

shinoff2183103d ago (Edited 103d ago )

Raiden I might be wrong but last I thought it cost money to put patches out on consoles.

As far as me paying for it, I'm not all that interested tbh. Not enough to pay for it with older games, and newer games have been pretty decent about it for the most part.

dumahim104d ago

Sounds like the modder has to go in to make changes to unlock it on a game by game basis. "Simple" enough to do it unofficially, but to have it done officially, they need someone to go in a make that change, put out a patch and put it through certification, which I believe is not necessarily a cheap thing to do. It's questionable if going through this would then give them enough sales to make it worthwhile.

Inverno104d ago

Many games still have physics tied to framerate, i think it's cause they wouldn't want to go in and do anything extra. Then there's the 10 dollar upgrades they rather charge. The problem is that there's no compromise, cause if I could mod my PS4 and all I'd lose is online play then id jailbreak it immediately. Mods have done so much for PC games and they could do the same for consoles, but manufacturers hafto be willing to compromise.

shinoff2183103d ago

It's not to hard to do and there's youtube videos that break it down really well. ANyway most of us here arent able to break are console anyway due to being up to date on firmware from playing

+ Show (1) more replyLast reply 103d ago
Chocoburger104d ago

Yep, this sucks having to require a jailbreak for something that should be standard in our industry by now. I learned my lesson when PS4 was jailbroken and I didn't keep a console on low firmware for years, but now I'm holding onto two low firmware PS5s specifically because there are features I'll be able to do that you can't do on official firmware, so this will pay off for me soon enough.

Jin_Sakai104d ago

It should be a sin to let these games sit and be stuck at 30fps.

EazyC104d ago

RDR 2 not getting a 60FPS patch for PS5 was a crime.

Driveclub - Brutal Backlog

Driveclub was a headline game at the start of the PS4’s life. A fabulous game – eventually - but what now, with the servers turned off? Is it worth your time? JDR starts its engines in today’s Brutal Backlog.

DriveClub director confirms he’ll reveal his next game this year

Paul Rustchynsky, who was additionally lead designer on several MotorStorm titles at Sony‘s Evolution Studios, is currently working on an unannounced project as part of Avalanche Studios’ new Liverpool development team, which was formed last summer.

deleted844d ago

Nice. I really like Avalanche's Apex system, it can make some pretty stunning environments. Hopefully it'll translate well into a racing game! (assuming that's what he's working on)

Magog843d ago

He specifically says it won't be a racing game of any kind.

deleted843d ago

Yea, I see he posted a different tweet clarifying that now, but that was not posted in this original tweet or any of the replies. I apologize for not scrolling through all of his Twitter account.Thanks.

Magog843d ago

@OtterX It's in the credit URL actual story. No need to get upset.

MIDGETonSTILTS17843d ago

Motorstorm 2 deserves a remaster.

The balanced monster trucks vs dirt bikes.

chicken_in_the_corn843d ago

Why a remaster? A new game would be so much better

MIDGETonSTILTS17843d ago

Because it’s been designed already…

Azfargh843d ago

I would be happy with just that at 60fps... but... if it were a new game with course maker, 50 cars racing at the same time, focusing on Pacific Rift and Monument Valley... I would feel way better

MIDGETonSTILTS17840d ago

That sounds like alotta extra work for content nobody is clamoring for.

Classic maps for me please. I actually want the game to release.

MaximusPrime_843d ago

"To set some expectations, I'm not working on a racing game.
So sorry, no DRIVECLUB sequel, MotorStorm successor or ONRUSH offshoot.
This is something very different to anything I've worked on before"
So it will not be a racing game. That's a shame. :(

moriarty1889843d ago

Agreed. Driveclub and Motorstorm were great games and deserve sequels. Onrush was fun for me as well. I wonder what type of game he will unveil when the time comes.

Mr_Luke843d ago

Damn, i hoped a DC or Motorstorm sequel... :( let's see what they can pull out from the hat.
