Interesting but mobile gaming is kinda of dead for most intense gamers.

TheUndertaker851963d ago (Edited 1963d ago )

According to reports mobile devices may actually be the most popular way to play games and many people game across multiple devices. Granted mobile represents many kinds of games from little tossers to full fledged titles, both exclusive and multiplatform.

Having more mobility can also definitely be a big selling point in certain markets, most notably Japan.

Of course MS can achieve this through Skynet.

Can't wait!

blacktiger1963d ago

So let me get this straight, Microsoft-owned Minecraft is no longer supported on Microsoft-owned Windows Phone/Mobile? Ok...

joab7772651d ago

Insane right! Maybe that's why they bought it, to get some of the pie!

So project spark, fable legends, scalebound, and now Minecraft for mobile. they need to start explaining why on these things. People are starting to get jumpy.

tigertron2651d ago

I used to have a Windows phone, the Lumia 640 is such a great smartphone in terms of hardware, but has been abandoned by Microsoft. I grew tired of waiting for more apps and the W10 update, so I went back to android. A real shame...

Microsoft looking into bringing Pokemon GO to Windows Phone

TXIDarkAvenger2827d ago (Edited 2826d ago )

They're only thinking about it because of the petition by people who use a Windows Phone. How does that make MS desperate?

thisgamer5032827d ago

Yeah. Microsoft responding to customers in a positive way when they start a petition is desperate. Sounds like trying to please their fans to me.

rainslacker2826d ago

If they were desperate they'd actually try to get some serious game development on the device. Windows Phone has the staples we've come to expect from mobile devices, but it's seriously lacking on all other fronts.

For the most part, I don't think people buying Windows phones really care about such things so much, because even the support they do get doesn't really get that many people buying or playing games on it. It's usually the last consideration of any dev looking to actually make some money.

I have a Windows Phone, and think it's a great phone OS...at least until I updated to the crappy Win10 Version. But if I were looking for it for more games, I'd be seriously disappointed. To date though, it has the best solitaire game I've been able to find on mobile devices, so that's about the only reason I replaced my old one with a new Windows phone, since that's all I use it for in terms of gaming, and it makes calls and sends texts just as well as the other options out there.

TheGamingArt2827d ago

Why, Microsoft has been laying off their Windows Phone division in large numbers, they announced dropping support for the "Windows Phone" platform and support for the concept of universal Windows... they've all but said, they're done. This is an absurd waste of time and investment for them.

KiwiViper852826d ago (Edited 2826d ago )

They wouldn't put Pokémon go on windows phone to entice new customers... It's likely for all the people with a windows phone in their hand right now. So the future of the division really has no bearing in this decision.

Sent from my windows 10 phone

TheGamingArt2826d ago (Edited 2826d ago )

I guess Nintendo needs to get Pokemon Go on Gameboy Advances and Nintendo DSs pronto. Obviously they need to satisfy the current user bases they have. Going off of your logic of user bases justifying investment.

MatrixxGT2826d ago

Look!!! Someone with a windows Phone!

Let's gather around!

rainslacker2826d ago

@Matrixx

I have a Windows phone too. It's a nice phone, and a good OS. Win10(upgraded from 8) update for it sucks completely, but that's more likely because it's not officially supported on my phone, so I will probably switch back when I get around to it. Replaced an old Win7 phone with the Win8 one...mostly because Windows phone has the best solitaire for mobile I've been able to find.

While I'm not really into the Poke-Go craze, nor care to partake in it, I don't mind MS trying to get it on the device if there are 100K people that actually want to play it, and likely there would be more as well. But I don't think most people buy the Windows Phone for gaming, so I doubt it's a major consideration, otherwise MS would have spent more time actually trying to encourage development on it.

Maybe they'll do something with UWP going forward, but Win10 seems like they're nowhere near ready to actually use it for mainstream use. Win8POS was near perfect in every way. Then they had to go and make it all wonky with the upgrade.:(

If Nintendo sees a significant potential revenue stream for Poke-Go on Win Phones, then there's no reason they wouldn't do it. Not sure why MS would have to actively pursue such a thing, unless they plan on porting it themselves.

If there are 100,000 gba and 3ds owners petitioning for it, then why not?
