Phil Fish Says He'll Make Fez 2 if He Gets Verified on Twitter

8CN: Phil Fish has tweeted saying he will make Fez 2 if Twitter verifies his account.

pwnsause_returns3545d ago

i love your game man, but jeez, you're such an attention whore...

iamnsuperman3545d ago (Edited 3545d ago )

I disliked Fez. It had this interesting concept I wanted to love but when I played it I felt lost (going in a direction with no idea on how to get back or really where I was), I didn't know why I was going that way (which led me to get a bit bored) and I found the puzzle intelligent but way to overly complicated to be called good game design. I liken it to academic writing. There is an interesting point to be read but it is covered with flowery language to give it more self worth than it needs to be

I had no desire to finish it

paddy953545d ago

My thoughts exactly. Good idea, but poorly executed. It really needed someone focused on tight level design.

Kiddcarter3545d ago

Wow I thought I was the only one who felt that way about the game, bought it on ps4 and wanted to like it but just couldn't

Hellsvacancy3545d ago

That makes four of us, I wanted to like Fez, I just didn't, it started off charming enough but after an hour or two the charm wore off

Didn't finish it, not likely to either

MRMagoo1233545d ago

I got it free from psn plus and havent even tried it yet my son says its crap tho lol.

uth113545d ago

Lol! Me too. I thought the concept was cool, but I got bored playing it after a short time.

HarvesterOSarow3545d ago

I personally like the game. I have beaten it around 4 times now and I have enjoyed it every time. I think some people expect it to be something it isn't.

I do agree that you can tend to feel lost while playing. The first time through, I actually made it like 61% and didn't even realize there was a map.

Yes, there is a map, and it is intricate and abstract in its own way. Figuring out how to use the map can even be a difficult task, due to the retro look though. I expected it to be a game made with the image of old school behind it, so it was like playing NES games again.

The soundtrack is great, the dialogue is witty and the puzzles are really well done (some are very hard). My only dislike is the reliance on the internet to get through a few. I know for certain there is a puzzle that you would not be able to solve by yourself and it required many people coming together to work towards a resolution.

That being said, he designed the puzzle to be that way.

I do understand your criticism though, but I actually think FEZ was one of my favorite games of the year. And I have not disliked anyones comment because voicing a different opinion is what the internet is about :D

Maybe one day, despite Phil fishes douchebaggery, you will decide to give it another try. It is very unique.

user14394143541d ago

Its people like YOU who make devs like Phil Fish never want to make a game ever game. All you do is complain about everything and criticise a game he spent most of his life making. Next time you want to bash a game please think about what harm you are doing to the gaming industry and to developers lives.

Is this guy for real? How egotistic do you have to be to actually bribe a game for attention?

lol this guy's a joke.

1 good game and he's gotten so full of it.

GamersHeaven3545d ago (Edited 3545d ago )

It was only a matter of time now with Indies having a bigger spot light on them this generation compared to last Blow fish wants the spotlight back on him.I got to admit Fez is actually good game enjoying it never had the chance to play it last generation so I'm all for a sequel.

psuedo3545d ago

You need to proof read. Its a good game to you, but you never had the chance to play it? How do you know its a good game?

iamnsuperman3545d ago (Edited 3545d ago )

Does he really need to say that. I really dislike this guy. He comes across a bit self absorbed. If he wants to get very verified on Twitter he might want to think about becoming more grown up and less offensive on Twitter

Bzone243545d ago (Edited 3545d ago )

This^

Completely agree.

equal_youth3545d ago (Edited 3545d ago )

höhöhö yes that fish.
he really acts like a five year old on the playground. I don't think anyone will take his words for full after his last debacle and now this. he should do his game for the greatness of playing not for having some fun on twitter.

Pogmathoin3545d ago

Twitter, please do NOT. Christ, you would think this guy is relevant.....

mhunterjr3545d ago

If there was every any question that he was an egomaniac attention whore...

Benjammin253545d ago

Exactly. And didn't Fish throw a big hissy fit where he claimed Fez 2 was cancelled? He must sure love money. Well he won't be getting any of mine. If he sorts himself out or comes clean and admits he has some serious behavioural problems and apologises, I might reconsider.

ThatEnglishDude3545d ago

Good game, but really - what a knobhead.

Stop holding your game hostage to Twitter and make the Goddamn game.

Top 10 Games We’re Happy Got Cancelled

Alex S. from Link-Cable writes: "Sometimes, a game getting cancelled is actually a blessing in disguise that either helps the developer or game series reach new heights with what actually does come next or just saves our time and money by keeping what would obliviously have been a bad time lost forever."

You're happy for the lay offs too?

PiNkFaIrYbOi1721d ago

Why would anyone be happy about any game being cancelled?

0hMyGandhi1721d ago

okay, I'll bite.
I friggin adored Arkane's version of Prey (it's basically the spiritual successor to System Shock that we never got) but I would have loved to see the bounty hunter iteration of the sequel as well, perhaps as it's own IP.

2ndhandcorn1721d ago

Scalebound for me was happy it got canned , the concept seemed picked out of a hat lol terrible.

Knightofelemia1721d ago

That RE title on Gameboy colour looks like an Atari Lynx game

Top 5 Cancelled Games

Developing a game is an intricate process. Thousands of lines of code have to be written with thousands of graphical assets. The publishers have to spend thousands of dollars on marketing. Speaking on the behalf of the developers, it hurts us beyond measure when we don't get to witness the fruit of our labour.

Here are The Gaming Report's top 5 games that did not see the light of day.

Do not forget the X-Com FPS that looked great but did not come to be.

DiaperFace3128d ago

^ And similarly, Rebelstar 2: The Meklon Conspiracy. The first on GBA is such an overlooked, underrated gem. 9.5/10.

Retroman3128d ago (Edited 3128d ago )

"Top 5 cancelled video games" that list incorrect .

lets start with cancelled games from Snes up to now, that we old skool gamers have waited for for years only to find out it was cancelled.

MegaRay3128d ago

If I made a top cancelled games. It'll all be Crash Bandicoot and MegaMan games. *sad laugh*
