5 Horror Games That Deserve Sequels

BD writes: Have you ever fell in love with a television show, spent more time than you would care to admit binging on each of its episodes, only to find out that it’s been cancelled, prematurely and without any real warning? I have, I’ve been burned numerous times, and it never gets any easier. This problem isn’t limited to our favorite TV shows, video games can cause that same abrupt stop, and it often hurts just as much.

As much as I’d like to see another entry in the Condemned, Dino Crisis, or The Suffering series, at the very least, those games got one or more sequels. I’ve decided to eschew horror games that have already seen a follow-up in favor for those that haven’t — the one-offs that deserve to be more than that.

I don't think Alan Wake needs a sequel it would probably just kill it. Alan Wake was good because of its originality, American Nightmare wasn't nearly as good.

Kind of a goody story...

On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.

wait, that place is real? national lampoon wasn't kidding?

I just bought two of the MonsterVerse Godzilla movies on 4K - both had digital copies expiring in 2023. Both were actually expired.

I'd be surprised but it's WB, of course they'd actually expire them

Knightofelemia22d ago

Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.

Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.

Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.

Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄

Rynxie21d ago

Most likely she wanted to resell a few or most of them. However, it was a too good to be true situation.

So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.

I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.

Rynxie21d ago

No, most likely to resell. However, she ended up getting screwed.

Asplundh21d ago

This is Alan Wake 1, it had physical copies.

Man, I’d love to get a sequel. I wish that’s was this was instead of a remaster, but it’s such a niche title. It won’t sell gamgbusters, unfortunately.

I am not sure what they are looking for sales wise but it can’t be much more than it originally sold if it’s even that much. I’d guess it just needs to sell well enough but who knows what that actually is. I still have the PS3 copy not sure if I’ll buy a remaster or not.

Great game, hopefully that we will get a sequel one day
