And people still play this crappy game series.

zerocrossing3733d ago

Yes, they do. COD isn't a bad franchise it just doesn't deserve the praise, but it's still one of the most successful and popular franchises around.

Don't ask me why though, maybe it's the simple gameplay mechanics or the online being easy and 'fun' to pick up and play. Or maybe it's people just being sheep and buying what they're told to.

Probably all of the above if I'm honest.

I have a love/hate relationship with the series. However, Activision cannot ignore the fact that Ghosts wasn't a blockbuster that previous COD installments had enjoyed. Pre-orders were at the lowest for Ghosts and overall sales were down around 20% compared to other COD games. One fact in marketing is that the longer an item is out,the more people will drop off from using said product. It's up to the companies like Apple, Samsung and Activision to attract new audience members. Unfortunately with COD, word of mouth is spreading in a negative way with Ghosts as it being the worst in the series. Personally, I feel they were overzealous with the multiplayer by adding too many perks and slim selection of weapons compared to previous games. The new maps are a lot of fun though. I will admit that.
*Edit. I noticed in the beginning of the video that he asks her about selling 1 billion. It's been confirmed several times that One billion games were SHIPPED to stores. Funny how alleged journalists ignore those kind of facts.
Again, I play COD and have a love/hate relationship with them. I play Ghosts on both my PS4 and Xbox One.

who thinks she's hot? would you kiss her?

Activision could ship blank DVDs and still make $1 billion on COD.

That day when Activision fired Jason and Vince

“Jason and Vince just got fired!” A lead artist shouted, as he rode in on one of the many small kick-push scooters that would typically lay around the studio. He quickly scooted away to some other part of the office space to spread that shocking message.

Activision would say that to all their victims. Here’s money now get over it.

RhinoGamer8878d ago

A friend worked there in production and was miserable due to working with IW and with ATVI. When he complained to his VP about it, he was told...be glad you have a job and are making games.

mastershredder78d ago

Sounds about right, but is also sounds like something Infinity Ward would say. They made their own bed and cashed in hard to do it. F em.

franwex78d ago

That sucks, but that’s corporate America. I mean, they could’ve turned down the money and leave to Respawn too. At least they got something, my corporation would’ve probably expected everyone to go back to normal.

I mean, if my company wants to give me a bonus and raise my salary by 50%, I'd get over whatever the hell they wanted me to. 🤷‍♂️

That's what we need, two call of duties every year. I'm calling it.
