10 years. That is the waiting duration currently experienced by each and every Half Life fans and with every passing second, that length of wait looks to increase accordingly. Many gamers have been criticizing the Half Life folks for creating their own misery but that is about to pay off.

i remember being so excited for patriots for years, only to have them release that siege trash. i hate how multiplayer games, pvp in particular, have ruined so many potentially good games.

Still hurts a little that we didn’t get Ep3… and the “leaked” plans for it sounded like a great finale to the HL2 story arc.

The ending of Half Life Alyx and what it did basically put the nail in the coffin for those plans.
Whatever they release next i hope it's not catered to consoles first. Back 4 Blood seems to be going that route by having automatic flashlights, but i have high hopes Valve won't water down any games as they are usually released on PC way earlier, like HL2 and HLA.
Man, I wish I played Half-Life 2 when it first came out so I could love it like the fans do.
I played it on Xbox 360 and I thought it was ok. I recognize it set a standard for a lot of things like physics in game and story-telling in an FPS, but I think by the time I played it the design had been improved upon by other games.

its an interactive storybook, written by Geoff Keighley, why should it be free? hes worked on reporting valve games since before half life 1 released.

I'd love to see Zoe, Francis and Louis come back, or maybe Bill if they pretend the cross over with L4D2 never happened and they went North to Canada.
Same, tho interestingly if you check the steam database page you can see L4D2 is being updated frequently, just not publicly, seems they are up to something.
Also we can look forward to B4B trailers etc soon so we have another game that might be similar.
Damn I want more Half-Life and L4D..
