The Walking Dead S2 E1 Review | COIN-OP TV

The gameplay still is solid, and the technical issues unfortunately still present. All-in-all the first episode is very solid and feels like the studio is picking up right where the last season left off.

I thought it was still very well written but I didn't get into it as much as I did the first episode of the last season. (Spoilers incoming)

First of all, this is just a personal thing but I couldn't get behind playing as Clementine. When playing the first season as Lee I could totally relate to the world weary guy finding something to live for in this sweet girl. When I was playing as Lee all of the paternal instincts I never knew I had totally kicked in and all I cared about was protecting Clem. When playing as Clem I still want to protect her but I don't feel like I am her in any way whatsoever. I forgot I wasn't actually Lee for most of the first season. Like I said it's just a personal thing. I'm sure for any young teenage girl playing the game it's great but for me it was too much of a stretch to inhabit that character. Even with her being a little older and wiser I have nothing in common with her.

I'm also a little bummed that they didn't improve the choices. I understand that it was the first episode and so on but knowing how Telltale structure their games I really felt like I could see the joins in every decision I made or didn't make.

Lastly, the final decision seemed a bit odd to me. Maybe it was just the circumstances I had placed myself in. I recall I could have asked for a gun which I didn't but there was nothing I could see to suggest I had any chance of saving the guy I chose not to save and still, having made my choice I was chewed out by the person I chose to go with because I 'could have saved him' I had no idea I was being asked to help. I figured I was being offered help by two different people.

1. Lack of highly exclusive games this generation on XB1, has been the super depressing video game story this gen.
2. Anthem is another,
3. WiiU,
4. XB1 will not work without Kinect lie,
5. XB1SAD Edition,
6. Crackdown 3,
7. Street Fighter V,
8. Sea of Thieves,
9. No Man Sky, (although apparently good now)

MGS4 should replace 3 a lot of characters both hero and villain die permanently in that game, also including a lot of people from MGS3.

TWD season 2 should also be replaced with season 1 nothing telltale has done has broken me since the final section with Lee and Clementine (“keep that hair short” ☹️)
