VGX has been kinda disappointing. I was expecting actual demos of these games not just teaser trailers. Nevertheless, The Witcher 3 looks amazing!

Lalanana3794d ago

Yea this was disappointing. Nothing new in this trailer.. no gameplay really

JustPlay43794d ago

Yea was hopeing for more then what they showed

And can't wait for Witcher 3 going to be awsome

TekoIie3794d ago (Edited 3794d ago )

Displayed a nice level of detail though!

Defo one best looking next gen games.

PLASTICA-MAN3794d ago

The man with a fur coat...Fur physics confirmed for all platforms (Apex for Nvidia cards and TressFX 2.0 for consoles and and ATI cards)? I hope so since TressFX 2.0 is being used for Tomb Raider Definitive Version, I don't see why it won't be applied for all versions and this trailer proves it with coat(previous trailers did have static fur).

starchild3794d ago

The Witcher 2 is my favorite game of the last gen and The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt looks even more incredible. I simply can't wait to get lost in this game.

Well now I know what to expect from VGX..... As a first time watcher. NEVER AGAIN.

But OMG W3 was worth the wait it looks damn clean & amazing.... Can't wait :D

Pintheshadows3794d ago

Amazingly, as the VGA's, it has been worse in the past. There was one year (maybe last) where Felicia Day turned up and Zachary Levi presented. I almost topped myself.

fenome3794d ago (Edited 3794d ago )

This one was stupid, I used to watch the VGAs (before they put an X at the end of it), honestly stopped watching it when The Last of Us lost out to GTA5. If this industry is to progress then anything with the number 5 after it should not get top honors. That's just my opinion though, and I understand everybody doesn't feel the same way, but still..

LaChance3794d ago (Edited 3794d ago )

Question. Why are Sony the only ones who have nothing to show ?

Had not much to show at E3, nothing at Gamescom and nothing again today.

Not getting a PS4 before fall 2015. Not making the same mistake as with the PS3.

edit: yeah but Sony not showing jack since Feb 2013 isnt embarrissing. Cool.

Ricegum3794d ago

LOL. You're the biggest MS fanboy I know, you're opinions are invalid, and quite frankly embarrassing.

Pintheshadows3794d ago

Well, would you want to be associated with this abortion of a show?

ABizzel13794d ago (Edited 3794d ago )

Because they knew just how trashy this show was going to be so they pulled The Order, and anything else they might have shown, and are waiting for GDC.

inFAMOUS: Second Son
Drive Club
Uncharted
The Order: 1866
Planetside 2
The Witness
Deep Down
Daylight
MLB: The Show 14
Hot Line Miami 2
Outlast

all coming to PS4 exclusive in 2014, add in 3rd party support and it's a great 2014. And those are only the games we know, stop with your hating.

GarrusVakarian3794d ago (Edited 3794d ago )

So you are saying they should just show games that aren't ready to be shown yet, just for the sake of showing them?

Stupid comment is stupid. Everyone knows Sony is bringing the goods next year. Their 2014 line up is looking awesome.

ltachiUchiha3794d ago

LaChance

Your right up there with Belking lol. We all know your full of it budz.

DigitalRaptor3794d ago (Edited 3794d ago )

VGX was an absolute embarrassment on all fronts, except a couple of really great low-key reveals. If Sony had shown something on the same scale as what Microsoft had allowed to be shown, it would have been nothing but a disappointment. So I'm glad I didn't hold my expectations that high, and also glad that they didn't show something that wasn't ready, just for the sake of having something to show.

But we know what's coming from the console with the much better developer support across the board, so let's not pretend they have nothing to show, when they've shown more in a much more diverse array.

Where are Microsoft's Japanese games? Their MMOs? Their free-to-plays? Their indies? Their handheld games? Coming soon...?

+ Show (3) more repliesLast reply 3794d ago
thekhurg3794d ago

Can't wait for this game!

Glad I didn't watch the VGX though, from all the videos it seems like the reveals were terrible.

JackISbacK3794d ago

atlest they showed the some glimps an dnow i'am expecting demos at e3 wherre more people and media will be able to see it live ,the biggest techno evvent of the year is coming soon ,i'am damn exiting and those multi regions ,man for best potential of withcer i'am gona buy it on my pc and will leave my xb1 and ps4 for some time ,till then i will play the great witcher 3.

Cyb3r3794d ago

Very short trailer it looks great though but still too short

CaptainPunch3794d ago

This made up for the horrible show, can't wait for the game!

Pintheshadows3794d ago

This has been a disaster apart from No Man's Sky.

The Witcher 3 looks incredible but the trailers all night have been so poor. So lacking in anything of note.

Even Titanfall just looked committee designed after seeing that trailer. The artstyle is so bland. It looked so bland and unimaginative after No Man's Sky.

I hope this gen doesn't just bring a slew of generic sci-fi shooters in place of modern military ones. That is not the way to go.

Destiny had a poor showing as well.

KiRBY30003794d ago

man, Destiny trailer was weak indeed.

king_george3794d ago

Literally everything at the "show" was horrible. No major game reveals at all i mean it was just a disaster

DigitalRaptor3794d ago (Edited 3794d ago )

I'm enjoying your enthusiasm for No Man's Sky.

It does look fantastic and one of the surprisingly great reveals from an otherwise dull, overhyped and embarrassing awards "ceremony" from Spike. Although, I thought the Double Fine's 'Broken Age' segment was quite good and informative, to be fair.

Pintheshadows3794d ago

That did look good as well, I have to say. It is just that No Man's Sky took me by surprise in a very real way. I have always wanted a game where you fly your ship around a galaxy, see a planet, go to it, land your ship, and go for a wander. I'll just explore and immerse myself entirely.

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave22d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan22d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave22d ago (Edited 22d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.

I can't fk with this list. They missed on alot of games probably before the writers times. Also I know people loved some portal but I was never a fan.

Tomb Raider 1
Driver 1
Abe’s Odyssey
FF6
King of Fighters 94
Mortal Kombat OG

Street Fighter 2
Resident Evil 1

Inverno46d ago

Infinite but not the first two games? Witcher 3 but not the first two games?? GTA V but not literally any of the games before it??? Portal 2 but not the first? Also if you're going to play Shadow of The Colossus play the remaster and not the remake. Can't say I disagree with the list but my man it's all over the place.

Name Last Name46d ago

I mean some sequels are objectively better and you don’t need to play the whole series.

Inverno46d ago

But most of these games have a story to follow, sure you can catch up with a YouTube vid but where's the fun in that?

LucasRuinedChildhood46d ago (Edited 46d ago )

A list like this isn't telling you not to play the previous games if you want to. It's just giving you legendary games to play.

But tbh, you don't always have to force yourself to play every entry in a franchise to get to the better ones.

- The vast majority of Witcher 3 players never played the first 2 and had a great time. The first 2 games aren't in the same league.
- The GTA games are self-contained with the odd fun reference. You can easily jump into any of them.
- The Shadow Of The Colossus remake looks and controls better than the original (plus it has a 60fps option while the remaster is just 30fps). New players will enjoy it more.
- Portal 2 is a lot better than Portal 1 and takes the concept much further gameplay-wise. Storywise, Portal 1 is fairly light too. Not that you shouldn't play it but realistically ... you'd love Portal 2 whether you play it or not (at lot of Portal 2 players have never played 1).

Bioshock 1 is the only one I agree with you on simply because it's one the best games of all time and arguably better than Infinite. No other setting like Rapture.

Looking at the list, I'd recommend playing Uncharted 1 before 2 but no doubt, 2 is the legendary one you have to play.

Inverno46d ago

I get it, but that's just my opinion on his opinion. I just think that before you play a sequel you should still play what came before it. Maybe it's just me but i find it fascinating playing through the first game in a series and seeing how it has evolved through its sequels. Like I said I don't disagree with the list, other than SoTC which I strongly believe the remaster of the original should be played above the remake.

AuraAbjure46d ago

Awesome list! Hot take on Fear (and it's hard af expansion Persaus Mandate!) Bioshock Infinite is stellar, so is the Witcher 3 and you nailed it by having Ocarina of Time. So many fantastic games! Gotta play 'em all! Next one on my list is Prey after I beat Dead Space 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction.
