The newest generation of gaming is almost upon us. By the time this month is over, PS3s and 360s will officially be "last gen" machines. While some gamers are eagerly awaiting their brand new Xbox One or PlayStation 4, the rest of us are stuck with the consoles we already have.
However, the curtain hasn't fallen on this generation just yet. There are a number of great looking games on the horizon. Here are a few of the many reasons you don't need a next gen console to have a good time.
This could be fun as they make great tables. Go big or go extinct. Prime your senses for a neural handshake and step into the cockpit of a Jaeger. It is on you to cancel the apocalypse when Pacific Rim Pinball comes to Pinball FX on May 16.
Gary Green said: We have a juxtaposition of 2D and 3D visuals, flashy turn-based combat, quirky anime characters with cheeky dialogue with plenty of partial nudity; Yes, this is a Compile Heart JRPG. Whilst the engine is borrowed from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Mugen Souls is more of a Disgaea spin-off. It’s not a strategy RPG as such, it merely sits within Disgaea’s ever-expanding universe (Multiverse? Netherverse? Your guess is as good as mine). You won’t find cameos though, since Mugen Souls is a franchise which aims to stand on its own two feet.
Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."
Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.
2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.
Dark souls 2... mmm tastes good >_>
`
Was set to get the ps4 at launch but bills got in the way now will have to wait for income tax return to buy one. : ( oh well will have dark souls 2 to keep me busy.
I'll definitely be getting DS2 and Castlevania: LoS2 on the PC. It's pretty much a no brainer really, because you know what to expect from the games i mentioned.
I'm getting an X1 and PS4 but there's PLENTY to be excited for on PS3 and 360. On top of the titles mentioned in the article, don't forget all the DLC for current games (I'm looking at you GTAV!) Not only that, last gen transition brought MASSIVE price drops on Xbox and PS2 titles, giving you a great chance to catch up or revisit overlooked gems.
I'd say it's exciting times for current gen owners too
For a guy like me an old school JRPG fan who spent 16 years of his life playing mostly those kind of games, PS4 have nothing to offer me now at the early days of it's release & because SONY abandon completely JRPGs I must w8 from some third party studio to develop something worth playing & for something like this to happen I must w8 at least 2 years, so no new console for me before 2015.
In the other hand I have still a lot of games to anticipate for PS3 like FFX HD, Tales of Symphonia Chronicles & The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Flash which is my most anticipated game currently :)
