The Vita already had Blue-Tooth.
But since there's no touch screen, they have to enable a keyboard somehow.

Abriael3881d ago (Edited 3881d ago )

The vita had bluetooth, but it did not support the Human Interface Device standard. The PS Vita TV adds that, and that's a very relevant difference, because it can support all kinds of devices. Keyboards, mice, microphones, cameras and a lot of other things that the original Vita cannot.

Yupper's 100% correct, this is indeed important, because with Mouse Support..HID is what Many Tablets and Smartphones have already for the Bluetooth ESP. in Android powered Devices.

So this is really good news, combined with Playstation Move also..which is Bluetooth interesting thing's for this lil Micro Console could be done.

Software update will allow ds4 Sony confirmed tht should go some way to playing games with touch control considering the touch panel on the ds4

vita TV is a genius piece of kit

Sharius3881d ago

right now my aim is PS4, but i'll buy this sexy baby once they release the black box

GribbleGrunger3881d ago (Edited 3881d ago )

Same here. I'm currently saving for a PS4 and will definitely get the VTV when it releases over here, largely because of the huge library of Vita titles I have sitting in my download list from PS+.

Sharius3881d ago

i actually not in rush because i have PSV, so i guess i'll wait for black box to release

fenome3881d ago

@GribbleGrunger

Exactly, I put everything free from plus in my download list just in case. Even the Vita downloads even though I don't own one. Now I'm glad I did because when VTV comes out I'm gonna have a nice collection to choose from right out the gate.

DA_SHREDDER3881d ago

For $95 bucks I'll take 6 for every room in the house. Its like having a vita and ps4 in ever room in the house. And yes I will Im getting a day one ed of ps4, ha ha

blademaster093880d ago

It's size is that of a smartphone. Why not just carry it to every room in the house >.<

DA_SHREDDER3880d ago

i have 3 kids who would love this as well, so six flat screens that i can turn into smart tvs for me and my whole family to enjoy

ginsunuva3881d ago

Who cares, it'll be hidden behind a monitor/tv anyway.

Klonoa-dreamtraveler3881d ago

my tv is on my dresser it would be pretty visible and id rather not have a white mismatching color standing out. i would want it to look nice in harmony with my black tv, ps3 and ps4 and sound bar.

sashimi3881d ago (Edited 3881d ago )

Why would it be hidden behind a monitor/tv? so every time i want to switch out a vita game i'd have to take it out and put it back? The thing takes physical games too ya know. Not to mention i can play my vita when i'm out and than plug in my memory card into the ps vitatv once i'm home to continue playing.

Lord_Frieza3881d ago

colour it in with a black marker

alexg5873881d ago

Whips out the black permanent marker..problem solved !!!

DiRtY3881d ago

This will be just like PS Move, PS Vita itself or PS3 Play TV. Hyped on the internet and a flop in the real world.

fenome3881d ago

You underestimate this little device. I never wanted a Vita because I'm not in to handhelds, but I've missed out on some good titles because of that. Now I'll have the option to play those titles on my tv for less money than it would cost for a Vita. Throw in PS4 remote play and it's a win win for people like me.

ExPresident3881d ago

That flop in the real world sold out on Japans Amazon within 1 day. Flop indeed.

Sony is forecast to lose billion at the end of this fiscal year so it doesn't surprise me.

Rimeskeem3537d ago

It could also be that working at such high positions for 29 years earned him a lot of money to retire.

700p3537d ago

Maybe he bought a xbox one.

danny8183537d ago

Lol nintendo has more money at this point

dantesparda3537d ago (Edited 3537d ago )

You dont care about facts eh? Just whatever you believe. Fact Sony has a 19 billion, Nintendo 16 billion. Yeah, Nintendo has more money.

And Tbone, is all you do is troll? Why are you so obsessed with Sony?

SoapShoes3537d ago

Bunch of Xbox fanboys clamoring over this I see. How anyone can agree with you is beyond me.

MegaRay3537d ago

Dont wanna your last bubble, hah kido?

Vurczi3537d ago (Edited 3537d ago )

It was already stated that he is retiring. So, it has nothing to do with sony losing money.

That too bad. Good luck with whatever you do next Mr Kawano.

NewMonday3538d ago

he has to take responsibility for the troubles of PS4 in Japan.

TitanUp3538d ago

other than handhelds, console sales have been down in sales for a long time in Japan. a boost here and there but nothing like it used to be.

Not exactly this guys fault that the ps4 isn't selling well in Japan.

MrSwankSinatra3538d ago (Edited 3538d ago )

What does him retiring have to do with the troubles of the PS4? The guy has been working for Sony since 1985, so that's 29 years employed at one company. Maybe the guy wanted to just retire already. Not everything is a conspiracy dude.

NewMonday3538d ago

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has been the weakest link for years, on his watch the PlayStation brand declined heavily he should have pushed with strong ideas but they were too few and too week.

DonDon3538d ago

Could Yoshida take the position?

Chaos_Raiden3538d ago

Hope he have a good retirement.

Torque_CS_Lewith3538d ago

Thank you for the service sir, enjoy a life of leisure and gardening and your new boss; Mrs Kawano!

HappyWithOneBubble3538d ago

Now get out there and get that booty Mr. Kawano
