The only GTAIV commercial I've seen here in the United States is that GameStop one, and it just displays both console logos at the bottom in the end of the commercial.

First of all....I dont believe that only one console format is gonna advertise this game when it's a HUGE multi-platform title. Of course they will advertise it for both consoles. I'm not sure who will get the better exposure or larger share of attention, but I'm sure it will be massively advertised for both the PS3 and the 360.

Now thats a load of rubbish. I live in the UK (London) and no lie I saw the advertisements for Assassin's Creed and Burnout Paradise. The adverts for Assassin's Creed came on TV only displaying the PS3 logo/name. Burnout Paradise was advertised as just a PS3 game on wall plasterings in public places and subway stations when it came out. On TV, the advert for Burnout Paradise was displaying both the PS3 and 360 logo/names. I really cannot believe the lies that this guy is telling, I mean he's a fool to think his fabricated stories will not go un-noticed. I know what I saw.

No one I know really cares about the episodic content as nobody knows exactly what this will mean in reality (cost/content). The only time I hear it is when a 360 owner is scrambling to try and prove that their version is better, even though going by some hands on it sounds like the PS3 version is smoother in framerate, less jaggies and has richer colours/more depth.

Personally I don't care which people play, as at the end of the day I'm sure they'll be close enough for everyone to enjoy the experience.

...the PS3 is getting DLC but I think most of us will have moved on by then anyway. First 'exclusive' episode isn't meant to be until 2009 last i heard and we have a ton of titles coming to keep us more than occupied.

When i saw Burnout Paradise and Assassins Creed tv spots, they were favoring the 360 version and showing the 360 box, and only showing Play beyond for a cpl secs at the end of the commercial, at least the sony version was shown, but no ps3 box, which is very misleading, however when Turok was advertised they showed both boxes with 360 in the front, but you could see it was for ps3 at least and they did the live and play beyond things at the end...which was really nice... im hoping that they do that for GTA4, if not its very misleading... and lastly the august thing for the extra content will bite MS a bit as some customers, not informed as the hardcore and even casual gamers, may think the game is only coming out in August... Think about movie posters, the first things you look at are the title and then the date, do you really stand there and stare and read every little thing on it, no you don't, unless your retarded, but realistically you don't, and i feel the same is for GTA4 posters showing August 08...its gonna be interesting how tv spots are gonna work as i haven't seen one yet...

With the Xbox 360 install base maxing out at 25 mil like last gen, all future GTA's will be PS3 exclusive, just like all the rumors going around are saying. It's quite simple, and is basic common sense. With 6 million less consoles sold, the PS3 will sell more GTA's than the 360. 360 can never control a powerhouse like GTA. After GTAIV, I'm glad that Rockstar are going PS3 exclusive, this way their games won't be limited by the 360's garbage hardware and crappy graphics. i saw another advert in www.gametrailers.com when your watching a video right of the video is the advert it was same as this magazine.
the advert in the gametrailers did look boring and if i was a casual person it made no sense to me there 3 slideshows the first one tells you about DLC when the slideshow ended it didnt replay and the slideshow moved too fast so i had to refresh the page to read it all.. so really the advert was crap

if you dont see the advert at first time (because of another rat blu-movie advert) then you need to refresh it untill it shows up (took me 5 times to make it show up)

they can only state the DLC as exclusives so they need to think about what they're going to say to the consumer.

Gta will sell more copies for the xbox 360 due to the higher instsall base, but it will sell more Untis for sony. Like around 500 untis ps3 will sell for sony, and especially now that sony is releasing an exclusive bundle. But Microsoft needs this game more than sony because they, dont have a counter for none of sony heavy hitters. Accomplishments are just achievements and when somthing pops up about achievements you PS3 fans are there saying "they suck and you don't want it" but when the lights are out and no one is watching you write letters to Sony asking for them. Grand Theft Auto has sold ALOT without the need for advertising. The most advertised GTA title had to be San Andreas. Before that, they were advertised less and less, to the point where alot of games didn't get advertisements and just found their way around through word of mouth and ofcourse, popularity!

Sony doesn't have nothing to fear when this game comes out. If both companies; Microsoft and Sony are counting on this to push sales of software/hardware they'll get what they want.

This is much like Halo, many, many 12am launch parties are going to happen.

Well, oblivion was a pretty long game...it had DLC, that added more "story" type of 'missions'.

From what I understood, the GTA DLC will be additional or side stories. Everyone plays the main story of the game, rarely do people beat the game 100% finding all the hidden packages, etc. The DLC will be very effective in the sense that it adds more of the GTA element that EVERYONE plays.

I do agree the PS will also have DLC. But when I hear exclusive for one system, I understand that to be EXTRA DLC ontop of the DLC that every system gets. So say DLC #1 goes out to all systems. But then DLC #2 goes to only xbox. More STORY on the xbox 360. This was just my understanding of the DLC.

Either way both systems will get DLC, and it will be a badass game.

HAZE, this is a hit or miss game, tries to hard to be a halo knockoff might be good might not, COULD be great but DOUBT it!!

RFOM2, the first 1 was medicore, but it stood out ONLY because it was on the PS3 an there was nothing else to compete with an it was the BEST game availble on the PS3.

Killzone 2, well so far this has been mainly show but no substance, I dont want to compare it to the first killzone because that one sucked so that dont give me much hope!!

Motorstorm 2, good game not great, alittle lack on content an a little slow with loading, has, had potential to be GREAT but hasnt reached it yet!! B+

GT5, what can you say, this game also has history, one of the best looking racers PERIOD, but... here we are getting more of the SAME, nothing has changed over the years except everything getting prettier. theres RUMORED crash damage COMING but until that happens the only thing that separates it from the others is its skin. but other racers are definitly deeper!!

Glad to be a gamer seems to have this dislike and hatred for the PS3 and everything about it and I've noticed in nearly every single one of his comments he puts the PS3 down in some form or another. He clearly is very pro-360 and anti-PS3 and there is nothing wrong with that it's his preference, but what I find really wierd is that he always tries to pretend he's not a 360 supporter/fanboy and that he's neutral and non-biased in his opinions, rather than just admit he supports one particular console and that he is biased towards it (which is of course the 360). I have about 10 friends that are gamers. All of them have both the 360 and PS3 and each and every one of them are buying the 360 version because of the Episodic DLC and the LIVE multiplayer. One of them had a PS3 and bought the 360 for GTAIV.

The difference between DLC and Episodic DLC is obvious. New weapons and maps is DLC. 10hrs of a new story and characters is Episodic DLC.

If you are a PS3 owner or PS Fanboy and you bought all 3 of the GTA3 games, then you shouldn't downplay the DLC. You bought 3 games based on the same engine to get new stories. How is this different? I'd say that anyone who bought all three GTA3 games would WANT to have Episodic DLC after they beat GTAIV.

Be True Gamers and not fanboys. The plastic and silicone that we insert those games into doesn't matter, only the games themselves do. Whether you buy the PS3 or 360 version, you'll still enjoy the game.

Burnout Paradise got PS3 advertising, I saw no exclusive 360 ads for that. Just the Playstation logo at the end, then 'also available on Xbox 360'. I didn't see any Assassin's Creed ads for either 360 or PS3.

One of things that most of the POS3 crowd isn't getting is that 360 owners don't care about cheap which is why the attach rate is so much higher than the POS3 or the Wii. people act like the ps3 fans are only downplaying the dlc because we are jealous. let me let you guys in on a little secret. if the game takes, lets say 80 to 100 hours to beat, guess what. we have a bunch more games coming out this year. we don't need episodic content. we'll be done with gta4 and on to metal gear, kill zone etc etc. now we'll still be enjoying the multiplayer, but as far as the single player goes, we'll have other games to sink our teeth into. it was a smart move on microsoft to get this dlc to kind of hide the fact that they don't have a very strong lineup this year. so in essence they just bought another game for 50 mil. whatever it takes i guess. either way the game is going to be great. and i can't wait to pull some drivebyes on some ho's on multiplayer.
