This way people can buy 360 versions of AC IV, BF4, CoD: Ghosts, etc, and then be able to upgrade them when the One finally comes out.
While it's speculation, everything is pointing to a delayed One launch.
The only question is whether they paper launch it with 500 or 5000 units sent out to people and everyone else will get it when they get it weeks and months later or they outright delay it.
