Postmortem: The Emotional Impact of The Last of Us

"Now that The Last of Us has been out for a little more than a month, I’ve had numerous opportunities (as I sat around doing nothing) to reflect on what did and didn’t work. I kept swinging around in semi-circles with my chair as I thought back to the major thematic beats and emotionally gut-wrenching dialogue." (PS3, The Last Of Us)

Game is epic, going to play online right now.

The next one should be about the Fireflies. We know we will never see Ellie and Joel again

(Comics show how Ellie got bit! Can't wait for issue #4)

So Last of Us Too/2 should be about the formation of the Fireflies 5 or 6 years before Ellie

and Joel's story. Maybe tell us about Ellie's parents, and why she is immune perhaps?

Joel and Ellie are such awesome characters that I wish their adventure would continue, yet I hope we get new characters. I feel like I'm done with them. Their adventure was already perfect, and the ending was ambiguous enough that keeps you thinking, but can kinda figure out what will happen next. Henry and Sam, despite only knowing them for about 2 hours, were really good. If they weren't *insert spoiler here*, I would have liked to see their adventure continue.

No there doesn't need to be an extension on Joel and Ellie's story. TLoU was THEIR story. No need to bring about a history of them or what happened to them later. That will ruin it. I beat it about 3 weeks ago and the game has completely slipped my mind until now. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED THIS GAME. But just leave TLoU game alone and let it be what it was. It came and went.

Now that I've replayed almost every single "best game" from my past just recently I can say that TLOU truly is the best game I have ever played. I'm hooked to the online now. I usually have a very limited time to play but even if it is for a single online match I will fire up my PS3 to play it LOL.

There are aspects or parts in other games that are just as excellent as in TLOU. For example the atmosphere in Mirror's edge is perfect. TLOU is a complete package though. If I only got one game to take with me on a deserted island it would be TLOU.
