Super Stardust Spiritual Successor’s “Unveiling Should be Very Close”, Says Housemarque

Housemarque (Super Stardust, Dead Nation) has had an interesting 2013 so far, with the company revealing in January that they were “quietly working on a few new projects,” then concept art for Dead Nation 2 surfaced in February, prompting them to issue a statement that said “no Housemarque title has been cancelled in years.” - PSLS (Housemarque, PC, PS Vita, PS3, PS4, Super Stardust HD, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Pretty sure Sony owns the SS IP, so if it's a successor it's gotta be PS3, 4 or Vita. Unless the 'spiritual' part means it's not SS.

If they follow pattern, it'll be a PS4 launch title.

been a fan
of this series since the amiga days. The ps3 version was such a departure from the more asteroids presentation of the previous games.

It was a change for the better!! The psp and vita versions are so much fun to play when not playing the ps3 version. Even the wii-u nano assault pays homage to super stardust.

Its so good that others want to make one like it. There is even a indie game on 360 that is similar to SS.

It would great if a new Stardust and a new Dead Nation came out in the PS4 release window!

Yes, that's what the spiritual part means. Kind of like Dark Souls and Demon's Souls. Dark Souls is the spiritual successor to Demon's souls because Sony owns the Demon's Souls IP.

Awesome! I loved Super Stardust and it was one of the first PSN games I've purchased. Many hours spent on playing the game with the family, so it is natural that I am looking forward to what they have in mind with their next game.

Yeah, it's sweet.

Only problem is it makes you want to crash your ship on purpose just to enjoy the eye candy :-)
