Microsoft's "Always Online" Idea for the Next Xbox is a Huge Mistake

Aaron from Leviathyn.com discusses the rumor of the next Xbox system being always online, and why this would hurt Microsoft and gaming, and accomplish nothing. (Industry, Microsoft)

Uh, yeah, ya think? Everyone knows this except MS.

It isn't even an official idea yet.
All we have are just rumors, much of them contradictory, and the opinion of one ms employee about the idea of something akin to always-online--and we don't even know what that means.

For all we know, ms maybe have something akin to sony's ps4's sleep mode and the ability to maintain connection to xbox live at all times.

Nothing that hasn't been stated already, but the more the truth is spoken the more it will hopefully entice Microsoft to drop the concept altogether (assuming they truly plan to use it). Always online DRM has been a disaster for the PC games that have used it. I have no idea what console manufacturer in their right mind would ever implement such a poorly designed anti-piracy control method.

Number one rule when releasing a product; don't punish the honest consumer because of some bad eggs.
