Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate Review | The Game Scouts

Chris Lohr: I want to start this off by saying that Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate is my first Castlevania game. I want to follow that up by saying that I really wish it wasn’t. If you’re looking for a solid action game for your 3DS, stay away from this. Closmof looks and plays like a shitty God of War clone; it tried really hard to keep an old series relevant in a changing medium and fell right on its face.

Most modern games have an in depth tutorial. Closmof ups the bar for hand holding in the beginning to new, pathetic heights. After explaining that the circle pad is for movement and how to attack, you will come across a shrine or something to restore all of your health that you didn’t lose in the first fights. Of course, there is a button prompt explaining how to use the shrine. What you don’t expect is to watch your health bar fill up and then be told your health bar filled up. You probably also didn’t expect there to be a button prompt every time you see a shrine, but this game lacks subtlety.

It seems that fans of the series will dislike the game but people who dont know how much deeper its supposed to be, find it unfulfilling.. No equipment & items is a deal breaker for me.. Otherwise id give it a try at least but no thanks.. Im not giving them my money for a joke of a game.. Crappy story too? Not interested.. I like LOS on PS3 but this is an abomination

Yall still messed up your opportunity by not making castlevania lords of shadow 2 much much better

Had strong foundation to build on yet the 2nd game wasn't as good

Completely agree with that, Lords of Shadow 1 was fantastic. I was so excited for the second game, and was going to pre-order it. Thank god I never did...

That blame goes to Konami. Look up the interviews with Mercury Steam. Shows why all the stuff with Kojima wasn't all that surprising to me.

I'd love to see them make another 3DS Metroid or an HD 2.5D Metroid on Switch.
