looks at killzone, tear away, soul sacrifice, and a lot of other games coming for the device. its the best handheld ever available hardware-wise which is very powerful with some great games. it definitely needs a lot of original titles with a price drop to spark more interest. the vita is doing badly at the moment which isnt because its a terrible device like other consoles or handhelds with missing parts, its a device that some considers a bit pricey so a moderate price drop and some really enticing software and a lot of it should bring a lot more success and sales. i cant wait for tearaway and killzone mercenary. i wish it had its own god of war, infamous and a port of games like ni no kuni, folklore, gran turismo, mgs 4, heavy rain and a few others.
That is why people on N4G and who write this article could never run a company. They would toss out every product at the drop of a hat the moment it begins to loose momentum or before they try any thing to save i.
Currently playing through Final Fantasy IX and Castlevania SOTN on Vita and I'm loving it. Just being able to play all these classic games on the go (especially on the Vitas incredible screen) was worth the purchase let alone all the great new games on it.
yeah I never liked many turn based RPGs except FF7 is one of my favorite games ever. I recently got FF9 just to try and I really like it alot. Im on disk 3 now and have enjoyed it alot more than FF 8 or 10.
Im also playing my third version of ninja gaiden 1 as I got NGS1+ for free on PSN+ and I have to play it as its one of my favorite games ever.
Vita will have great games But sales-wise 3DS is way ahead already and will only get worse but again Vita will have games wich is what matters for gamers.
@arabiensoldier I too, think the Vita will be part of whats coming from Sony on 20 Feb. Dont know why, but I feel Sony will reveal a significant link between Vita and PS4. Personally, I just wish they would lower the prices of memory cards as things are at the moment.
I have owned the PS1, PS2, a PSP, and PS3's, I walked into gamestop this weekend armed with cash for a Vita and games, problem was, what games? Every game I'd wanna play on the Vita I can play on a PS3, I walked out without any less cash. I drove to best buy and actually choose a wii u over the vita. The problem for me is this..I'm 29, married with kids. I don't exactly have all the time in the world to play a portable system. So if I'm dropping $400-$500 on a system, it better have the software to back up that purchase, cause odds are I'll be using it more as a home console. This to me is Vita's problem. The 3DS has the younger market cornered. Smartphone and tablets have the "I have 5 mins to kill games", where exactly does the Vita fit in? For someone like me, it just doesn't, not as far as I know anyway. And there are a ton of gamers in my exact situation. Sony has got to do a better job marketing the Vita, and do a better job of bringing unique games.
You was in a lose lose situation. Vita screen looks better then the Wii U gamepad screen i will give it that. I checked both at a gamestop. The Wii U is a good choice for kids.
So you don't have all the time in the world to play a portable system, but you DO have all the time in the world to play a console?
You sound like you went in looking to buy a Vita for your kids.
Okay, the 3DS has the younger market cornered, and smartphones and tablets have the "I have 5 mins to kill games."
Where does the Vita fit?
With everybody who ISN'T part of those other two crowds. There aren't a ton of gamers in your exact situation, because MOST gamers understand what the Vita's purpose is, even the ones who do nothing but spout hate.
Hell, I use my Vita more at home than anything, but I take it with me pretty much everywhere I go. Even so, I've put more than 1000 miles on it since I bought it, and I'll continue to do so.
I really don't know what to tell you. If you're only looking for kiddy games or time wasters, then maybe you shouldn't be looking at a Vita in the first place.
@hicken. An yet you have nothing to actually debate what I said. You play it at home, I have a ps3 for that. I went into it assuming there'd be something different. And seriously when do you have the time outside the house?
PS Vita has better games then the other guy. Uncharted, Wipeout, Gravity Rush, Persona 4, Shinobido 2, Mortal Kombat, MvC, Ragnarok Odyssey, Soul Sacrifice, God Eater 2, Tales of Hearts, Tearaway, Bioshock and Killzone M. 3DS has Paper Mario, Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario bros 2, Kid I, Devil Survivor, Tales of Abyss, Animal Crossing, Luigi Mansion, Pokemon xy, and Monster Hunter 3D.
yuppers, sure is 2013 :The fate of the Vita will be determined this year, and the outlook is bleak.
Again in 2014: The fate of the Vita will be determined this year, and the outlook is bleak
and yet Again in 2015: The fate of the Vita will be determined this year, and the outlook is bleak.
End of Sony and Playstation3, 2006! is the year, no 2007, no how about 2008 yea this is most definitely the year of demise!
just like what can save the PS3, 2007 will be the year, now move that to 2008, how about 2009, hey 2010 will most definitely be the year to save the PS3.
Ironic when you have Nintendo and To a lesser extent Sony an Microsoft all have the
"manifest destiny of failure" FUD being foretelling of all three companies, but..but the red ring of death, but..but the 3DS is not doing that well, but..but Sony is set at junk status now, how can the company survive..
