It would be hilarious if they did this and nothing was on sale, just to make fun of Ubisoft.

Also, just a warning. Do NOT buy ACIV on PC. It's a wreck.

SteamPowered3561d ago

Origin and Uplay can both perish in a fire. Cant stand either of their "services". Its Steam or nothing for this cowboy.

Lon3wolf3561d ago

Each to their own I don't use their services constantly but not too much wrong with them so far as I have experienced. When Steam was first released it was really bad, ended up keeping it off of my machine for a few years until it was sorted, now it is the best of the PC online services.

SteamPowered3561d ago

You are absolutely right. Steam has come a long way. My biggest issue is the redirect through Uplay when I start my game. Steam games pop up instantly, but my Uplay games sure take a bit to fire up.

Lon3wolf3561d ago

Yeah they should stop their services interfering if it is purchased/run through Steam, I agree 100% it only gives their service a black mark and is unneeded.

user56695103561d ago

still over priced. i dont want to pay $30 for a game that comes out every year. you call this a sell.

jwm23561d ago

Then my guess is you don't like sports, mario, battlefield, call of duty, etc.

SteamPowered3561d ago

Which is why Origins and Uplay are flailing. Steam brings the discounts and the content. Hell, I bought Wolfenstein and South Park for 33% off during the Summer Sale and both games have been out less than 6 months.

user56695103561d ago

Bf and cod is not worth the price and they never go down. Mario is Nintendo mascot character stays the same but they always try some new so Dont put Nintendo on their level. Even the new yoshi games have something different . People always try to use this excuse for Nintendo but Nintendo are the main company that tries new things, they just need more studios to bring more games because 3Ard party suck at using their system like they do.

I also let my friends buy sports games there is no point in all of us buying them if the most we play them is with each other. Paying 60 for a update is rediculous . This gen is going to be the raping gamers gen. Publishers are seeing how gamers will pay for anything and just focus on which console is better

The Coming Video Game Distribution Platform Wars

It was only about five years ago that Netflix started streaming video content via the Web, changing the way we watch movies and TV shows. They weren’t the first mover; Apple has offered video via iTunes store since 2005. But Netflix has found the most success, with 23 million streaming subscribers in the U.S.; a study last year claimed Netflix account for 32.7% of peak U.S. Internet traffic.

Keep in mind that Netflix continues to face a huge number of rivals - Apple, Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, Amazon and Hulu, among others. Meanwhile, some content producers, including Sony, have begun to mull cutting out the middleman to boost returns.

I sure hope EA doesn't go completely digital cause i still like physical copies.

StayStatic4287d ago (Edited 4287d ago )

Same even if its to save hard drive space or enjoy the collectors edition of a title rather than going with a collectors digital version , Blizzard collectors editions are sick :D

Valve is still humble even after all the EA trash talk

-Mezzo-4307d ago

Agreed.

That's the awesomeness of Valve.

Yi-Long4307d ago

VALVE has been great and earned out trust and respect.

EA has screwed us over, time and time again, and they earned our DISTRUST!

WeskerChildReborned4307d ago

I guess Valve is just awesome like that.

aviator1894307d ago

Valve is awesome and this statement solidifies their greatness even more.

awi59514307d ago

Ill never trust server closing EA. They screwed me so many times in the past. This years madden sucks we will shut down all the servers from 2 years ago and make them play this new one thats worse than the last one.

WeskerChildReborned4307d ago

Yea that would be frustrating if your favorite game's server were to shut down.

Breadcrab4307d ago

You give them too much credit, Valve.

Awesome-Xanto4307d ago

I have to admit, nice to see someone from Valve saying that retail isn't going to die, and single players isn't going to die. Looks like someone understands that not every game needs to have multiplayer or be F2P.
