Paul looks at the impact that augmented reality could have and is already having on gaming.
***"As it stands at the moment, Augmented Reality is very much in its infancy. The way it’s being applied right now may seem gimmicky and geared to so called casual gaming, but this is the beginning of something big and something special. Taken as it is now, Augmented Reality may feel like a poor imitation of the Virtual Reality of our dreams, an all too familiar case of reality falling short of fantasy. For the moment the message is still wait for the world of tomorrow, the technology will arrive, meaning it’s easy to dismiss it as another dream. The thing is, tomorrow is coming and coming soon. We are seeing the beginnings of Augmented Reality today and, with the new tech set to be a major feature of the next console generation (as I detail in my preview article on the next generation xbox console), Virtual Reality may soon be a thing of today, not just tomorrow and I, for one, can’t wait!"*** I completely agree. Same can be said for motion controls as well.
Thanks very much. I myself am less excited by motion controls for now. Unless they get much more precise they will remain a novelty in the main
I really believe this is the future of gaming...it has to start somewhere.and maybe with PS5 it will be perfected.
i don't think you will ever perfect it. there will always be better tech on horizon
