"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4" is as sure to happen as the sun is rising tomorrow, but for those who did follow the Infinity Ward and Activision fallout, there is some new discussion regarding the situation.
According to a report from GameSpot yesterday, Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said the decision to fire Jason West and Vince Zampella was a simple one to make.
"You find out two executives are planning to break their contracts, keep the money you gave them and steal 40 employees. What do you do? You fire them," Kotick said.
The what was sure to be a multi-million dollar case was settled this past May.
The legal battle for the acquisition of Activision Blizzard continues, with Microsoft countering one of the FTC's latest moves and the Judge delaying a relevant ruling.
Look, to be honest the FTC should just stop.
MS has A/B and nothing has really changed yet...if you are worried about 5-10 years from now...just drop it cause the future is unpredictable.
Take this week's news, that 4 Xbox exclusive are going Multiplatform.
The FTC and the lawyers behind the "Gamers' lawsuit" against Microsoft over the acquisition of Activision Blizzard are denouncing the recent layoffs within the respective legal battles.
The legal battle between Microsoft and the FTC over the Activision Blizzard acquisition continues. The house of Xbox just scored a major point but the FTC is firing back.
Yeah man I think Microsoft here getting to probe is kinda wrong unless you only have accessed to necessary information not complete access imo.
Maybe Microsoft should also talk and get help from their "congressional influencers" at The Capital. They had plenty to say on the matter before the acquisition. They are mighty quiet after the purchase went through. Almost as if they had a stake in the matter.
You should be careful upsetting Sony too much Microsoft.
You might need them to sell your subpar games soon.
This isn't a major victory. They're essentially being allowed to call witnesses in regards to agreements they reached with Sony and Ubisoft which was initially blocked because Microsoft didn't make the request through the proper channels. This case is dead, there is no way the ftc will be allowed to unwind this acquisition.
Kinda wish they would do something else. I would to see the next COD go Cyberpunk
Idgaf. I'll probably buy it, don't really care right now. Some will say "rehashed" others "new aspects of gameplay". We'll all buy it if we feel like it and won't if we don't.
In other words, move on people. Not just from this article, but from the overall debate. I think a lot of people are getting tired of it (the arguments), myself included.
Edit: to the people who disagree with me: next time I'll just post "OMG! yay more COD <3 <3 <3" and get a million agrees instead of a valid point that could spur a discussion with a fair amount of people agreeing and disagreeing.
so they can't "copy and paste" MW2 again (MW3 did that)... and they can't do a future setting (BO2 did that)... so what da hell exactly is MW4 bringin to the table worth $60??
BO2 is my last one since it was actually good and COD is now out of ideas.
Lets be serious, the only way they can refresh the series is to change MANY core gameply elements which wont happen. Also the engine is beyond outdated.
Never did like Bobby Kotick, and the whole West/Zampella thing makes him seem like even more of a slimeball!
