EDGE - DAO Games is set to create a world first when it launches Mechanist Games’ MMOG City Of Steam in the MENA (middle east and north Africa) region and Turkey, allowing gamers there to play a localised version of an international online game at the same time as western players.
City of Steam: Arkadia is a 3D industrial age fantasy MMORPG, the debut Unity3D-based MMO from Mechanist Games. It transports players to a world where clockworks, steam power, and arcane technologies suffuse every aspect of existence, from the half-organic, half-mechanical dwarves to the giant gears of the World Machine itself.
To celebrate the launch of yet more servers, N4G is giving away CoS: Arkadia code packs!
Cat writes. "3D industrial age fantasy MMORPG City of Steam: Arkadia is going live on December 4, 9 PM EST, along with new systems, new content and more.
"After breaking ties to publisher R2 Games, the developer Mechanist has made huge changes to the game and is now self-publishing under the title City of Steam: Arkadia. To celebrate, we're giving out Growth Pack codes!"
City of Steam launched to both social and critical acclaim with its intense dungeon-crawling approach to the steam punk theme but that success was short-lived thanks to issues with overseas publishers. Since that time the game had to close for several weeks as Mechanist Games worked on the official relaunch, City of Steam: Arkadia.
