GameSpot: "Anarchy Reigns' tight combat and over-the-top action are brilliant in places, but tiresome in others."
A recent wave of modern brawlers have exploded onto the scene, and it feels like they owe Anarchy Reigns some gratitude.
Jerry from BagoGames says, "With Astral Chain coming out right around the corner for the Nintendo Switch, I couldn’t help but think about all the amazing games PlatinumGames has pumped out over the years. Some revered greatly, others panned by critics, but to me insane infatuation. These are my five favorite games from my favorite developer"
After Xbox's announcement that there won't be any more backwards compatible games until the release of Project Scarlett, here's a reflection of what could, or perhaps should have been.
Not only would it have been great if Max Payne, Freedom Fighters, Nier, Blur and Lollipop Chainsaw got to become backwards compatible, it also would be great if those games got to have more games come out in their franchises.
Its not as backwards compatibity is dead its just been put on hold so all backwards compatibity game work on next xbox then when its released they will start up again, P.S I did finish Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Burning Earth
Might get the chance when Scarlett comes out. I mean for all games Xbox 360 and Original Xbox. I can dream it happening.
its a very fun game. Platinum never lets me down
Another overrated mediocre game from platinum games.
Platinum is yet to dissapoint me
Loved all of my multiplayer sessions of the demo especially with the random disasters to mix up the chaotic gameplay. Plus the soundtrack is one of the best I have heard for a while......
Max Anarchy (aka Anarchy Reigns should it ever be released in NA) is the definitive brawler this gen. However, Platinum Games failure to incorporate local multiplayer/split-screen co-op, will be the games undoing. The game would've been a 10, if local multiplayer/split-screen co-op, was implemented. This would've game an incredible amount of longevity. The belief (maybe even Platinum Games believed it) that Max Anarchy is or was viewed as an online only multiplayer brawler, is foolish to say the least. There can never be an "online only" multiplayer brawler, as many who play such games, do so with family and friends on the same console. (only a handful of games understood that this gen, RE:5, Army Of Two, Kane & Lynch, Lost Planet 2, Borderlands, etc...) As a result Max Anarchy's "reign" will be short lived, as the multiplayer options (i.e. online only, to play with other human controlled characters)) don't meet the standard set by it's predecessors, such as Power Stone, Gekido: Urban Fighters, etc...
