Nintendo Gamer talks to the infamous Smash Bros modders about Brawl, recreating Melee’s many techniques and Reggie’s hair.
Masahiro Sakurai, the director of Super Smash Bros., explains why he believes online play isn't a good fit for the series.
I feel bad for Smash fans. Those guys have been trying to maintain the scene active for 20+ years and get nothing but hate from Nintendo.
Sakurai explains how he and Nintendo still don't understand how the internet works.
FTFY
I’m sorry, but if a game is MP then there’s no f*cking argument that can justify no online MP. What he says about competition being different from just playing with friends shows me how out of touch these people are.
It’s not until a new generation that understands things steps in to clean-house that we’ll see some evolution here.
It's a big fighting game so online multiplayer is a must. Competitive smash is the only thing I see fun in these games anymore asides from the big character reveals, singleplayer is laughable and you ain't gunna have people over for couch gaming much.
If Nintendo makes a new smash, it needs a huge evolution for singleplayer/couch play to be enjoyable for me any more. But we all know they'll just do a deluxe edition for their next console lol. They really need to up their servers as well.
he sounds more like is trying to justify Nintendo ineptitude to create a proper network infrastructure in order to Smash Brothers work properly online.
Nintendo's little purple square didn't get the acclaim at the time, but the best GameCube games show what a powerhouse it really was.
Oh man... FZero. That is actually the only game I ever got sick off of. And Im not talking motion sick but full on seizure induced sick. It was so damn fast that my eyes just couldnt keep up and I found myself waking up in the hospital. Havent even tried to play it since, nearly 20 years ago. I can play wipeout, fast racing RMX, burnout... lots of other really fast racing games no problem. FZero really F'd me up that day.
Other cube games I never get tired of playing are mario kart dd, metroid prime, rogue leader and ikaruga
Man, we need a Viewtiful Joe and Viewtiful Joe 2 remake, along with F-Zero GX, Metroid Prime 1,2,3, can't forget Eternal Darkness, damn that game was amazing, Baten Kaitos as well. Noticed I said remake not remaster, I would love them to be remade in a whole new engine brought up to at least 2022 standards.😊 Remade on Switch and ones that are 3rd party can go multi-platform.
Honestly that console was up there in my top 3. So many good innovative games. Eternal Darkness was brilliant with the way it messed with you….aka your controller is disconnected… lol. Metroid, Zelda, Viewtiful Joe, and so many others. I miss playing them. Been thinking of buying a GameCube and jumping back into the nostalgia.
Super Smash Bros. Melee tournaments usually have decent payouts for those in the top five, sometimes even top ten places. But a recent Community Effort Orlando Series tournament (CEO) saw player Hungrybox earning only $75 for his spot in fifth.
Isn't this posted at the beginning of the tournament. A website or flyer or something should tell people what the payout is. I'm not outraged lol.
I'm surprised he got anything.. 1st and runner up usually are the proceeds beneficiaries... People just fake outraging lol
Reggie's got pimp hair, but yeah, back to project M. Metroid in HD please?!
