I’ve finally played a chapter from Naughty Dog’s eagerly awaited post-pandemic survival tale, and the first thing I want to say is this: The Last of Us is not a shooter. Well, not exactly. Though Joel packs a pistol, you’ll count yourself lucky to be holding more than 10 bullets at any one time. Most times you’ll want to avoid fights by sneaking and hiding. In other, more desperate times you’ll pull the trigger with a feeling of great reluctance — all the while praying that you don’t miss. The ultra-tight ammo supply imbues the game with a primal, high-stakes tension that brings uncertainty to every decision you make. One thing’s for sure: this is one mess you won’t be able to shoot your way out of.
"The Game Music Foundation are today very proud and pleased to announce an additional concert, circling back to the roots of Game Muisic Festival in Poland. On April 28th, 2024, the National Forum of Music in Wroclaw will once again become a place to celebrate the art of video game music, featuring scores from The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II." - The Game Music Foundation.
Najam from eXputer writes "It's time fore a new installment in the series, not another pointless remaster."
They are working on something new. Not to be rude but it is impossibility stupid to think ND next major announcement is going to be a remaster or their next Last of Us entry is going to be another remaster.
The team is sad for losing out on such a great project but celebrates its growth because of spending time on it.
All they had to do was make a basic online mode like their previous games. Instead they wanted more money and choose to go live service which makes games worse in my opinion.
What a waste of time and money, what a shame.
Not sure why they didn’t just make Factions 2. There was no need to make it a live service.
TLoU Factions was a great addition such a shame they couldn’t be bothered to remaster that for PS5 considering the crazy high price tag of the remaster of a remaster…
This is something to be celebrated. This studio is smart and they get it, even factions 2 wouldn't've have been worth the time. I am surprised they didn't just remaster the first one though, but actually how popular was Factions?
"With Tess and Ellie taking up the rear, I quietly entered..."
I spat my juice out laughing at this point, sorry that's so immature.
On topic, it's really looking like Naughty Dog have captured the true spirit of survival horror, can't wait until May.
THIS IS HOW YOU MAKE AN ACTION/SURVIVAL/HORROR GAME
We don't go to Boston.
the horror element really took me by surprise, I was only expecting survival tbh. even more excited for the game now.
This is such a solid write up. A lot people don't like bleak fiction, but I can't wait to play such an ominous game. If you've read Cormac McCarthy's The Road, you'll what i mean.
Never have i seen a game which propels this much genuinely frightful tension at the player in such realistic and natural form. What excites me more is that we've seen but a fraction of the game and everything shown has set it to be in running for classic status. Naughty Dog have put their money where their mouth is and not only created something special, but brought back survival horror in its finest form.
