according to the recent famitsu listing, Sony has at least 11 unannounced titles up its sleeve at the Tokyo game show 2009.

9 out these titles are published by SCEJ, 1 by Konami and 1 by IREM.

Irem is developing Steambot Chronicles 2 for PS3. It was announced at TGS last year.

Suikoden 6 was supposedly announced a few years ago on Magic Box, but then it all went quiet. 108 characters, 1080p hi-def, traditional six-person turn based battles, you know, a massive rpg that wouldn't fit on a dvd. I would only expect about 4 to 5 Blu Ray releases and the rest will be PSN titles. I am considering that this is because it is all annoucements from just Sony Japan studios, which have only released Siren Blood curse and Ectochrome so far. My guess is ICO game, White Knight Story, Legend of Dragoon 2, Level 5 game, Konomi game, a partnership with Square for Kingdom Hearts 3 and Savage Moon PSN + Patatpon 2 and Loco Roco 2 on PSP, then the grand finally will be Liverpools super secret game. I am still down a few titles but I think if they have listen to there customers that the other games will bring the RPG pain to the 360 lineup.

Konomi owns 4 big franchises (Metal Gear, Contra, Castlevainia and Silent Hill, and dance dance revolution god please no) and I would not be shocked if they are annoucing just a PSP game which would be either Castlevania, Contra or Metal Gear maybe like a Raven saga for PSP. Would cream my shorts for a Castlevainia or Metal Gear Blu-ray annouced game I think a Contra game (would be to hard to pull off on PS3 though) These are just my guesses.

David Reeves mentioned 12 games and before you disagree look for that article on this site, its there.All we got was amazing Heavy Rain and Eye PET promising game but ... and bunch of PSN games so i keep my expectations in check.
But at the same Time SCEJ has been super quiet, almost no games from them this year, its time for them to deliver and who knows maybe TGS is that time, i really hope so.

AFRIKA will be released in USA, probably next year in Q1 or Q2. Sony would be crazy to release it in Q3 or Q4 in states when we have 10s of bigger and amazing games, no one would buy it. But if they bring it with thropies and who knows maybe on PSN i bet many will buy it.
Unlike with USA where you have just english, for PAL market Sony has to make AFRIKA for 16 languages, so that is why SCEE is not interested to bring it to Europe but i guarantee you AFRIKA will come to USA.

TGS is looking like it could be the best convention this year! I'm really hoping to be blown away by this one since, while E3 and Leipzig weren't bad... they didn't really have that 'awe' factor for me. Perhaps with the exception of Heavy Rain of course.

11 new titles though... that is just hawt! With 9 of those being pretty much guaranteed exclusives (at least I'd assume if they're published by SCEJ) I'm expecting to a few beauties. I can only hope that Team Ico's game will be there along with the mystery game that BBC reporter was shown. If they're not one and the same that is. And it'd be great to see some more RPG's as others have said. I really hope they're doing something about that and can score some points with Japanese gamers at this show. Give them something to go crazy over.

edit: That was not a jab at the shooter genre. IREM made many memorable shooters, including the R-Type games, Gunforce and In the Hunt, a little-known arcade game turned PSX port. IREM also made 10-Yard Fight, the famous football game released on the MSX computer system back in the 80's.

As long as Team ICO shows off there new game or at least shows a teaser trailer, I'll be happy with TGS. It's been nearly 3 years since Shadow of the Colossus was first released and it's definantly about time Team ICO revealed to the world their next masterpiece.

You think MGS:Online sucks? I personally loved it. It was like Counter Strike and Gears online mixed.

Home is not a game. How many times does Sony have to say that? It's not boring either. I've played it. It's actually quite amazing. Sims fans will love it for the customization. Online gamers will love it for the social parts. Single player gamers will love it for all the intricacies of each shop/place.

I think you have your facts mixed up there Nano. SotC came out in 2006. That means that Team Ico's earliest to start on the next gae would be late 2006 meaning we won't see the new game until 2010. I do hope they show some form of progress though at TGS.

I really hope they have some nice RPGs in that list. PS3 is getting some nice games between now and 2009 and all that is left are some sweet role playing games that are far and few between at the moment.
