The Eyes Have It: The Best Looking Games of Fall 2014

Joe Lewis of The Koalition writes:
It’s a little over eight months since the release of the PlayStation 4 in North America; the launch window has come and gone. Since then, players have gawked at some gorgeous games. However, one can’t help but think that the PS4 has plenty more to give in the graphical department.

Fortunately, for those with a passion for polygons, the second half of 2014 has plenty of slick looking titles in store. Here are a few games that are set to push the PS4's GPU to the limit over the next four and a half months.

Definitely looking forward to both Assassin's Creed Unity and Alien Isolation. Unity is one of those games where right as soon as you saw the gameplay footage you could tell the massive differences in graphical quality and fluid animation. This is easily the best looking game in the series so far.

Agreed but do you think this is going to be another AC game? Same old, same old? Black Flag was cool because of the location(s) but I felt like I was just doing the same thing I did in all of the other AC games.

i just saw the best looking graphics i have ever seen by accident

i opened my room window

Nope.Assassin's Creed Unity will be as revolutionary as Assassin's Creed 2 was from AC1.

From what I've seen so far, Assassin's Creed and Far Cry look the best. But Drive Club also looks nice, and Dragon Age is certainly the best looking Bioware game to date.

starchild3535d ago

I agree with you. Assassin's Creed Unity and Far Cry 4 are the best looking games this year. Dragon Age is also looking very nice and is definitely up there. As far as smaller, linear spaces Alien Isolation is looking extremely impressive.

This is a good post about eyes having it.

bleedsoe9mm3535d ago

sunset overdrive looks gorgeous

GW2123535d ago

Not really. It looks decent but cannot hold up against the games in the list in terms of graphics. SO will be all about game play.

bleedsoe9mm3535d ago (Edited 3535d ago )

what ? too much propaganda, use your eyes that game is absolutely beautiful !

Nolando3535d ago

if your only looking at how real the game looks then sure SSO shouldn't on this list.

but in terms of crisp and detailed artstyle and technical achievement it does look amazing.

disKinected3535d ago

@GW

agreed mate and Lol at SSOD being a technical achievement..

bixxel3534d ago

Alex did say the most developed part of Unity was gameplay.

Played and enjoyed Far Cry, Far Cry 3 and 4 campaigns .

4 wasn’t so bad

Pagan Min was pretty entertaining

Skuletor42d ago

Yeah, 4 was good, was hard choosing which Golden Dawn member to side with, when they were both pieces of sh!t.
I've beaten all the main entries except 2 and 6, ended up uninstalling 6 to download something else instead.

Profchaos43d ago

I'd love a far cry pack with the original PC game (not the half assed port on ps360) instincts, predator even a port of far cry 2 to modern consoles back when these games had their own identity and weren't far cry 3 cut and pastel

Demetrius42d ago

Still one of my most favorite franchises along with assassins creed

banger8842d ago (Edited 42d ago )

Same here, I don't know why these games get so much hate. I've thoroughly enjoyed every single one of them, with only a couple of exceptions. I wish they'd hurry up and announce Far Cry 7. The only thing I'm concerned about is the rumoured time limit.

I Played Assassin’s Creed Unity Almost 10 Years Later. It’s (Kinda) Spectacular

Shaz from GL writes: "Assassin’s Creed Unity is looked at as one of the worst in Ubisoft’s iconic franchise. But playing it nearly 10 years later reveals it may just be the best"

Do the NPCs still randomly levitate every now and then? Even years later I noticed they hadn't patched that out

andy8543d ago (Edited 43d ago )

Honestly I loved the PS4 ACs. I'd love next gen ports of Black Flag, Unity and Syndicate
