Do people still play this game online??

IC3_DEMON3536d ago

This shit? On my Ubisoft profile I'have played this game 40 min total. This was a waste of money. Don't know why any news article from Ubisoft's Watchdogs should be relevant anymore.
But atleast this was the final eye openener for me. Thx to Ubisoft for showing me how their developers work.

How is this possible? PC gamers here always claim I'm lying when I say that one of the biggest reasons I gave up PC gaming is because having to constantly fix issues to get games working!

I've been PC gaming since it's inception and I've always said console gaming's biggest plus is it being so plug and play friendly. It's the reason I personally choose console gaming over PC gaming even though I have a pretty powerful gaming rig.

You spend almost as much time researching fixes, updates, keeping CPU and memory usage in the background low, choose performance over stability or vice versa, than you do gaming it seems.

Don't get me wrong. IMO nothing comes close to the immersion level of playing games on triple panels but sometimes what it takes to get it there and make it stable makes you wonder if it's worth the effort.

Good for you. I RARELY have had any issues with PC games and the few times I have I am able to resolve it in just a couple of minutes. I haven't had any issues running Watch Dogs.

On consoles I often run into issues, but I can't do anything about them. The game stutters like hell in this section? Too bad, you're stuck with it. The game crashes? Have to hope for and wait for a patch.

Console games aren't nearly as plug and play as they used to be. You now have to wait for the games to install. And issues that need to be patched are more common than ever.

Consoles still have the advantage in this area, but it's not nearly as big as before. PC gaming has become more streamlined and reliable, while console gaming has become less streamlined and less reliable.

I got this game for free with my new video cards and it runs like @zz on my PC. I tried over and over to get it to run properly. The weird thing is it doesn't run that differently whether I have it on my triple panels or a single monitor. I gave up on trying to get it to work and moved on.

My rig should be able to run this game on 3 x 1080p ultra settings TXAA and it I get frame drops down into the teens and micro stuttering on medium settings @ 4x msaa. It's ridiculous. It's the only game that doesn't fly on my rig since I upgraded it.

It's not even a good looking game on Ultra settings. It just goes to show how poorly optimized it is. It runs better on both the X1 and PS4. I played and completed it on both consoles. Yeah I'm one of those rare gamers that liked it enough to play it on all formats. Not going to happen on the PC though.

I run it at a solid 30fps on a single GTX 770. And that is at 2048 x 1152 resolution with 2x TXAA. It looks fantastic to me. Definitely one of the better looking games I've played this generation.

The console versions run at low resolutions and even have occasional screen tearing, which is my absolute most hated visual artifact.

Have you tried capping the framerate at 30fps? You need to use "1/2 refresh rate vsync" in Nvidia Inspector or "double vsync" in RadeonPro in order to get a properly vsynced 30fps. I use that and the game runs smoothly for me. Only occasional drops due to asset streaming (mostly during driving sections), but not bothersome to me. There are similar minor framerate drops in the console versions occasionally.

I have 780Ti Classified in SLI with 31gb free memory and more than enough processing power to run this game on Ultra settings with a triple panel 1080p setup. When I going into the graphics option and have the game determine what settings I use it chooses ultra, 4x TXAA in 5760 x 1080p.

Every game on my rig runs flawlessly but this one. I don't doubt it could be a conflict on my rig with a driver or setting but I know a lot of others online are complaining about issues and conflicts as well.

I have near zero CPU usage or less than 1g memory being used in the background when I launch the game with 31g mem available. But I will give what you said a try and see how it goes.

It's really weird because I did a system update and had it running on my triple panels pretty smooth. Than booted my PC up a couple days later and all hell broke loose again. It's frustrating because I really want to play this game again.
