10 Problems with the VGX Awards

Original Gamer: "Last Friday, I read an article on Polygon about how Geoff Keighley and the VGA crew were going a different direction with the VGX. Apparently that direction was creating an award show that was hardly a show and raised the bar on cringey entertainment."

Not on TV anymore?

Celebrity guest that give no f**is about games and treat it like a joke.

AngryTypingGuy3796d ago

This year's VGA's or "VGX" was the video game equivalent to the Star Wars Christmas Special.

Either return them to the old format and treat the games like the pieces of art that they are, or do away with them altogether.

ATi_Elite3796d ago

I can't believe people actually watch this CRAP!

No way I would waste valuable gaming time to watch that mess or SPike TV in general.

Only 10? I have seen public access programming with better writing and production values.

Cyber Citizen Shockman 3: The Princess from Another World review - Games Asylum

Games Asylum: "Super Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog weren’t the only platforming heroes receiving system-selling sequels in 1992. Over in Japan, the PC Engine’s Kaizō Chōjin Shubibinman (Shockman) series gained its third entry. US gamers had only just received the second game, and while there was hope of the CD-based Kaizō Chōjin Shubibinman 3 making it to the US, it was never to be. After playing through this newly translated re-release, it’s easy to see the potential it may have had – it’s comparable visually to Mega Drive/Genesis games released the same year and would have likely been positively received in the likes of EGM and GamePro."

i feel like a majority has been blaming Sony and not Arrowhead.
just what ive seen.

isarai13h ago

Same, not sure where they were looking

Tacoboto3h ago

Arrowhead's CEO is awesome and so transparent; they're demonstrating they're a gamer-first studio and will stand by our side even with a publishing partner as big as Sony.

I haven't seen anyone blaming Arrowhead except the dumb "but you knew!" takes... Which are useless, it's still the publisher that listed it for sale in unsupported countries.

northpaws59m ago

but when they review bombs, it hurts arrowhead, not Sony

KwietStorm_BLM2h ago

I think we've already moved past it but hey gotta remind everyone what direction to throw shade where they were already throwing it.

DarXyde2h ago

Is anyone blaming Arrowhead?

That would be news to me.

TheColbertinator1h ago

I do. Sony is a pox on the gaming industry.
