What’s the truth about Persona 5?

Link:"The Shin Megami Tensei franchise earned a cult audience long ago with the hardcore-pleasing JRPGs in its main series and spin-offs; we just gave high marks to Shin Megami Tensei IV. But the franchise’s popularity reached new highs, both in its native Japan and the west, with the Persona side games. Persona 3’s interesting mix of dark themes and day-to-day high school life pulled in many new fans, as did the great storytelling and empathetic characters. Persona 4 shared those strengths, but its more mundane setting somehow made it more engrossing, as players came to savor every day of their year in the quiet town of Inaba."

That it's the main entry in the series after Persona 4

im rlly considering buying a PSvita for Persona 4 golden. I bought Persona 3 FES on PSN last week and its just amazing. Gameplay, characters, story, soundtrack all of its damn good. up to 45hrs already.

fsfsxii3919d ago

I put 40 hours on my first playthrough, and then restarted and put an extra 15 hours, and finally, playing this masterpiece on my PS3, the FES version is alot better than the Portable version.

Hicken3919d ago

I like some of the extra stuff in P3P, but I think I prefer FES as well.

Dagobert3919d ago

When I first played Persona 3 on the PS2 I think I had about 130 hours into it. That's like the first for any RPG games, but the whole demon collecting shit gets addicting. It's like an awesome bad ass mature Pokemon game.

Eazy-Eman3919d ago

just to let you know, the shin megami tensei came first, then pokemon!

3-4-53919d ago

Does PS4 have you shooting yourself in the head every turn? If so, no thanks.

Single thing that is turning me off from PS3. It's just akward to watch over and over again. Don't have the game, but from gamepaly videos I can't get over seeing it. It's weird really.

contradictory3919d ago

the question is... how will they top Persona 4?
and on what platform will it be on?
( here's hoping for multiplat. )
it'll be interesting to see where this goes

Summons753919d ago

Improvements to the gameplay naturally. Real question should be how will they top P3. P4 had better gameplay but the story paled in comparison to P3's story. Had the better characters too.

Whatever they're planning I'm sure it will be great like all SmT games. I just hope it
Comes out in a home system and not handhelds because they're is much more potential and power there. Just look at P3P and P4G, they're psp/vita versions were weaker to the console version.

GenericNameHere3919d ago

How is P4G weaker than P4? The game looks GORGEOUS on the Vita. Plus, it has so much more stuff added into it that it's definitely worth rebuying again. Everything from the PS2 version is in tact, but now in HD, and has a lot of content added.

Blastoise3919d ago

So, you never actually played P4G then?

Dagobert3919d ago

Persona 4 Golden was in no way weaker than the PS2 version. Persona 3 for the PSP was weaker but in no way was Golden. As a matter of fact the PS2 version of Persona 4 was weaker.

Personally I liked Persona 4's character a lot more. Persona 3's characters were a bit too whiny and annoying. The storyline was great of Persona 3 but I liked 4's better. Maybe it was the humor that was added to Persona 4 and that there were multiple endings to Persona 4 which made it better for me.

contradictory3919d ago

unlike persona 3 portable
persona 4 golden is actually the FES version for persona 4. :P

and i personally very much preferred persona 4 to persona 3 so...

tiffac0083919d ago

P4G is not like P3P which lacked FES. P4G had more content than P4, not less. So P4G cannot be weaker since everything on it was improved from its PS2 original.

BlaqMagiq243919d ago

P4G is actually the complete PS2 version expanded even more in HD and completely blows the PS2 version out of the water. P3P I'll agree with though.

I was always hoping they would make a sequel to Persona 4. Would be nice to see everyone in Inaba again either going to college or getting jobs there and having to solve a new mystery.

3-4-53919d ago

I don't see how they couldn't put Persona 5 on 3DS & Vita.

Strictly Vita would mean about 40% less sales.

3DS install base has Vita beat 11/1.

The game will sell regardless, but it would sell an extra 500,000 copies on the 3DS no problem.

dcj05243919d ago

They would seriously have to downgrade things. It would be a step backward if they made it for 3DS.

BlaqMagiq243919d ago

I hope Persona 5 relates to P3 and P4 in some way even indirectly.

Dagobert3918d ago

They might just do that, seeing how in Persona 4 they visited the Persona 3 school and met that one girl. I'm sure in an indirect non plot related way they would have some Persona 3 or 4 reference.

BlaqMagiq243918d ago

Yeah I remember that. And they a couple other subtle nods after that as well like when they were telling ghost stories on the ski trip. I would be fine with something like that in P5.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
