Top 25 Xbox Games Of All Time (#10-6)

GR: The original Xbox often gets panned by gamers for being nothing more than a Halo machine, and while there's a shred of truth to that claim, that doesn't negate the fact that Microsoft's first gaming box had a ton of great software; some multiplatform, but also a lot that couldn't be experienced anywhere else. Don't believe me? Well the staff here at GameRevolution crafted a list of the 25 best games available on the system, and I think you'll be surprised by how many awesome games there really are. So let's get right into it.

Escape from Butcher Bay was definitely one of my favorite Xbox games and one of the few I actually held on to. Never played Rainbow Six 3.

Jade Empire is # 1 in my opinion. I would have liked to see a second game in that series.

So many games for the original Xbox - Kotor series, Jade Empire, Shenmue II, Breakdown, Morrowind, Crimson Skies, Unreal Championship, Dead or Alive, Oddworld series, Fable, Jet Set Radio Future, Escape from Butcher Bay, Blinx -
These are the reasons I backed Xbox as long as I have, only as of the last couple years being more or less done with it.

It really is a shame that what the original Xbox was is so far from where the brand is nowadays.

Psychonauts really needs to dress itself up in HD, climb on a disc next to Grim Fandango and get in my console.

I never got around to mass effect - I’m skeptical that it would hold up if I were to try it now

Furesis1d 21h ago

I would say it does. The combat is a bit shit for todays standards but everything else is great.

Downplaying every rendition of elves over a period of 70+ years? What kind of headline is that?

kythlyn8d ago

That and they're not that great. =_=; Game's too short to really get to know them.

"I won’t make that mistake again." It's impossible to that mistake again, so of course the write won't make it again.

LMAO what?! Every article that sings DD2's praises just seems off now that I've played it for myself. Its a mid game, 7/10 at best and that is generous. The elves are a joke too, much less interesting than say the Witcher 3's elves or Baldur's Gate 3's elves.
