Bungie Makes Fun of Call of Duty’s Fishes with its Bird Simulator in Destiny Commentary Video

One of the most mocked parts of the reveal of Call of Duty: Ghosts during the Xbox One presentation was the “intelligent fishes” engine showcased by Infinity Ward, coming second only to Riley the SEAL dog.

Today Bungie released a new video of the Destiny gameplay reveal showcased during Sony’s conference at E3, and hilarity ensues as the devs make fun of the Call of Duty fishes.

@Alithesnake1 I'll show you a 2 N64 games that shows fish reacting to you. On PS3 The Last of Us has Monkey's, Cranes, Birds, Deers, Dogs and Giraffes etc reacting to you as you get closer.

I wish I could pull up the video I saw on YouTube - it was a guy reviewing the MS E3 show, and to highlight his lack of excitement for COD:Ghosts he showed some very old Mario (3D?) gameplay where fishes move out of your way...

so excited for this game, its a definite purchase for my PS4. Apparently Bungie has made the game in such a way where you can travel to the worlds from which the new occupiers of the Earth are from and you can fight them there on their turf as well as on Earth's frontiers. This allows Bungie to create new worlds in the future as the add to the experience. They've announced that they will be supporting this game for a long time to come so I am very content with Destiny. It will probably be my first full game purchase unless Infamous comes out before them.
Edit: the ghost is the voice of the short guy from Game of Throwns!! (: he is my favorite character.

I think it is funny when people judge a company for making sequels. SOme games have such great worlds and stories they can pull off sequels or spin offs. I understand the yearly rehash whining, but Halo is far from that.
Halo 1 (2001)- badass couch coop and lan/local multiplayer and introduced a very good universe

Halo 2 (2004)- Online matchmaking and graphical overhaul along with big changes to the multiplayer

Halo 3 (2007)- Supported by bungie and user content on a whole new level on consoles with forge maps, video recording, photos, and gametypes.

Halo 3: ODST (2009)- introduced firefight, different approach in the campaign, and included all Halo 3 multiplayer content on one disc. It also revived the community with many obtaining the dlc and everyone wanting to earn that recon

Halo Reach (2010)- Graphical overhaul and gameplay changes(both are kind of unnecessary IMO)and improvements to sharing content. also alot of new game modes

Each halo has introduced pretty big changes, except maybe 4 which IMO was kind of a step back. If any game and company has done sequels well it is Bungie with the Halo franchise.

Halo 1: Starts off with an alien attack aboard your ship. Last of your kind and mankinds only hope for survival? Simpsons did it (Half Life). The needleer? Simpsons did it (Half Life again).

Halo 2: Starts off with yet another alien attack on your ship/base. I stayed up til midnight to get this game and when I came home I was disppointed. I became a Halo fanboy and defended this game since it was announced but when I saw that it was the same beginning as Halo 1, I felt like a dumbass and embarrased that I had hyped up this game so much. Same enemies and ugly purple hallways as Halo 1. I stopped playing after like 2 days and ended up throwing the game away years later when I found it in a shoebox.

Halo 3: More of the same, sub HD graphics with the same enemies, guns , and more purple. Also threw the game away (I'm not kidding, I don't feel bad about throwing my money away.)

Halo Wars: Sorry not fooling me again

Halo Reach: Wannabe Call of Duty in space, with same guns and enemies from the previous games.

Halo 4: Bahahah! I'm not stupid. I had already left the sinking ship right after Halo Reach came out and had my eyes opened by the PS3. But I'm guessing its more of the same?

The only cool thing Halo 3 did was the theather mode. Terrible over rated series, but then again what else is there to play on the RROD box?

I don't think they said anything bad in the video. Also had Bungie been kept as the developer of Halo, it wouldn't have been such a recycled game. Bungie is actually a pretty talented developer. I like the worlds they create. In some ways I see Destiny as the new Halo. Its basically the next Halo, made by the people that created it in the first place.

Everybody has different tastes and that's cool. I'm personally excited for Destiny. Its made by Bungie and they always create interesting worlds and Destiny is a mix of Sci Fi and Fantasy and I'm in the mood for something like that right now.

Its very nice that the water caustics are implemented etc, but come on developers, especially Bungie, Naughty Dog has shown that characters can walk into water and come out looking wet since Uncharted 1, probably earlier on PCs!!

What sort of dry water does this damn planet have? Just like the "bird simulator" has been around for years (checkout papers on boids), games today should also support pixel shader wet netness once they walk/run or are covered in water. If you are going to boast visuals, then implement all the other cool tech and algorithms that are already out there.
