I have and for some reason I couldn't get into it. Oh well, everyone's different I suppose. I might try it out again one day.

Same here. It's not a bad game, it's just not my cup of tea.

I don't know which game in the series you're talking about or how far you got but I will say this. I played the original Half life at a friend's house and it was a fun shooter for its time and loved the opening of Half life 2 but pretty early into Half life 2 I kinda hated it. A chase sequence I thought was gonna last about ten minutes had lasted about an hour and I just wanted to quit, being used to games that jump between exciting cutscenes and set-piece gameplay.

I pressed on out of boredom and a little further in it just hit me. How the long journey between events made the events so much more meaningful, how amazing the characters and design were. After completing Half life 2 and both of the short episodes that followed it I count it as my favourite game of all time.

How daaaaaare you. There are many comments I would make but I don't want to spend 8 years in prison so I will simply say you should play them.

My problem was that I played CS then half life. By the time I started tryin to get through the story I had clan commitments and couldnt find the time or motivation to play through all of the main game.

Now I blame CS for the gaming makeup of today cos it is such a good damn game and has spawned the ridiculous number of FPS online games we have today. COD got nothing on it.

Been replaying this on my steam deck now that it's been updated with modern controls and is now fully verified. Have to say I'm surprised to see how well it holds up. Was a great game in 1998 and it's still a great game 25 years on.
