With the recent release of Final Fantasy VII on Steam and the confirmation of a Cloud costume pre-order bonus for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, now is a joyous time for FF7 fans — but unfortunately, I don’t share your joy as I’ve never played the game and here’s why I probably never will.
Final Fantasy 7 has come back under the spotlight thanks to the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but is it worth replaying the original?
Very much so. Graphically it's dated but the story and the gameplay haven't aged a day. It's still one of my all time favourite RPGs and for me is better than Remake in some ways.

Rise of the ronin sold twice as much as Dragons Dogma 2 this week...but no articles about that. It's only news if a PS exclusive is being outsold.
Okay, I guess? I dunno... I still go back and play it through once in a while. Probably beaten the game around 9 times now.
So you like to complain, you're jealous of Cloud, and you hate blocky hands. Okay. Game would surely disappoint you.
How can you hate a character in a game you never played?
So Cloud was really Zack after all.
Why I've Never Played FF VII
Because it is a JRPG and they are 99% trite and retarded.
The only exceptions I guess would be Vagrant Story, Parasite Eve I & II, and Legend of Dragoon. And some strange desire to play Final Fantasy XII.
