I have to agree with this 100%. Sony is stepping up and telling us more about the PS4 but we don't even know if MS will be having a 720. When E3 comes I am sure MS will come out and say something but if they decide to do what Nintendo do and announce it 1 month before launch, that would be stupid. If they do that by that time the pre-orders for the PS4 would be out, thus meaning if the 720 hasen't even been revealed yet people will have no choice to pre-order the PS4

I realize by your name your a brainwashed sony fan, but here's the deal. This article was about people getting anxious about releasing specs and a date. It was nothing to do with needing to "step it up" and make it better.

I release it's hard to not place a negative twist on the competition for some people, but get a grip man, lol. The same goes for xbox fans too who go over the top with spin offs. i dont know if i agree totally with that. hard core gamers mostly at this point are males but if it well change from males to females oneday we well see. i personally cant wait to see the kinect 2.0 b/c i believe it can help hard core gamers be even more into the game their playing .just think your in a horror game and your about to walk into a house/room and you call out is their anyone there with your real words with the power of the kinect 2.0 or if your about to pick a lock on a game and you do it with your real hands on the screen with the power of kinect 2.o or lets say your playing GTA v and your at a club and they push you on stage stage and your have to really sing and read the words off the screen to keep while singing and you have to make sure to sing all words right inorder to keep the crowd from booing you to past that level. also you can have somthing for kids life story time and as your read to them you both watch in in action on the screen i dont know about you but i think thats next gen to me also might i add with the leaked specs of the next xbox makes it already 10 times more powerful then the xbox360 so the next xbox well most likely be on par with the ps4 so the next xbox well look beautiful.

Nobody stays king forever. And it's not like Microsoft dominated this generation. The Wii sold more than the 360. The PS3 is right behind the 360 in worldwide sales. The next generation could easily go right back to Sony.

Maybe it's cause they're not really into games anymore and feel they don't have to rush the new system since they're more about becoming more entertainment focused such as adding more movie and music and sports apps and services. I think that's why they're letting Sony have all the core gaming news since that's not really their interest anymore like it once was. This is all just strategy. Allow a competing product's noise to die down then announce yours given actual release dates are still a while away. Look at how competitors stay away from Apple's announcements as media focus is on Apple.

I'm sure if MS had announced first that people would be saying that Sony is just waiting for the right moment to trump everything that MS had announced. As I recall, wasn't it MS who moved first this gen?

If you really want to know about devs opinion on the ps4 (yes some are from pc devs, so there is that bias), they are very concerned with the weak cpu and gpu that are already dated and weaker laptop versions. But most do love the ram.

I don't expect MS to be much different with hardware. However with that said, obviously to offset the hardware, consoles have optimization and will being using dx11 as the standard. Also we're gunna see some some great new software graphic engines being used. So I think from those things alone we'll see some great things.

PS will take this next generation. MS will be de-investing in gaming. This IMHO is why they dumped a number of their studios. They will keep some to make software in the short term, but I don't see MS FULLY investing like Sony.

considering what ps3 went through and still outsold the competition since 2008 it doesn,t take a genius to realize that people still believes in the playstation brand and considering all the moves they made to make playstation 4 a much more friendly system for developers and consumers alike it is safe to say that next gen microsoft will have a much bigger fight on their hands.
i still aknowledge the fact that microsoft has done an amazing job this gen and wish them to carry on. without them, sony would probably have just rested on their past success and not have worked hard the way they ve done.

I don't think Sony or MS are going anywhere soon, but same could be said for MS. Look at their RROD and they still rebounded and continue to dominate the US market, which is the biggest market for video games. MS is doing well, which SONY fans should be happy for, more competition means developers pushing harder to achieve better products.

No, they aren't. I bet you consoles are already being mass produced or very close to it. Studios have had the final specs/kit and have made games. If this system comes out fall of 2013, their is no possible way they can change specs at this time, it's too late. I think MS is just waiting for E3, hence the E3 countdown site they launched on January 2, 2013.

As much as I would like to trash Microsoft about the long wait to show off there machine I can't. I know that they're not going to underpowered the console and it will be close to the ps4. I think they're trying to get the console ready to show in form factor so they can have that over ps4. It will be a way to say ha look Sony we can show our console as well as our controller.

I actually think they will announce at E3 and pretty much dominate the headlines no matter what is shown. They have very few IPs to release so they're playing it smart and waiting for the main conference. A condensed showing would be nice for a change, as MS generally has a ton of Kinect filler in between things gamers actually care about.

In contrast, Sony has an abundance of content so they can afford to drop early and sacrifice some E3 buzz in order to show off more games instead of Hardware.

As far as the next Xbox goes, I wouldn't be surprised if the next Xbox is closer to the WiiU than PS4. I'd like to see a serious upgrade quality wise on the Xbox. No more power brick, ancient load tray, new bluetooth controllers, and no batteries. I'd also like it if they allowed more 3rd party accessories like race wheels and bluetooth headsets.

Why not. It's speculation like everything else, but I'm sure they'll add Kinect, and they'll heavily focus on non gaming apps. You don't need PS4 specs to achieve MS's goals for Xbox. You can't grab casuals at $400+.

I'm sure it will be more powerful than the WiiU but not quite as powerful as the PS4.

Let's stop the "casuals" nonsense. Microsoft has Kinect, Sony has Move. Microsoft has social apps/functions and the PS4 was already boosting about apps/social media. They have damn share button on their controller lol. Both companies are trying to reach the biggest market possible. Let's see what MS has before we start drawing conclusions. Main element to your comment is "rumors" and that's all they are until MS officially announces something. I wouldn't sleep on MS, the lack of exclusives and hardcore games in the last 2-3 years points that MS studios have been working for release games. Lets hope that is the case.

Microsoft scared! That's funny lol xbox is running this whole generation. Actually the 720 has been in development and talked about way back as late 2010-2011 I believe.why do u think now the ps4 has a higher terraflop and upped their gigs to 8 from 4?

I think xbox is just keeping the 360 momentum going and at the same time cooking up ideas and throwing them out as rumors to see how people react to them, and with that said they will do the prcess of illimination. At the end f the day I think ms is just waiting and watching what sony does then reveal their system when they are good and ready, and I think when they do reveal what their system can do it will be a host of new and interesting features that will blow ps4 out the water.

Really all ms has to do is just build up on what the 360 already has and drop the subscribtion fee for live while at the same time make more internal 1st party games.ms is far from worried about sony you can trust that
