Why Releasing Enter the Dominatrix on SR:TT would have Saved Saints Row IV

The Enter the Dominatrix DLC started out as a cruel April fool’s joke played by the development team to spoof their fans on what was coming next for the series. While as everyone got a good laugh out of the joke the humor stopped when the company announced that they were actually going to be releasing content from their joke as DLC for Saints Row: The Third. As we all should know by now, Enter the Dominatrix was originally DLC slated for a release with Saints Row: The Third but has now been added as DLC to Saints Row IV as well as Saints Row IV as well as taking some of the DLC’s elements for the actual retail game.

Saints Row IV looks like the biggest disappoinment in gaming. Im all for the laughs and the spoofs and the other over-the-top weird stuff all previous games in the series had but presdient fighting aliens is too far... so far that I dont even think its funny, so far that it sounds like the stupidest game i have ever even heard of.

secretcode4052d ago (Edited 4052d ago )

Oh please, there's been bigger disappointments.

Final Fantasy XIII.
The Wii
The lack of new Burnout games.
The mere concept that Pachter gets paid for what he does.
Kotaku being a successful website.
Activision.
The fact that someone calls this game THE BIGGEST disappointment in gaming.
Cliffy B not splitting in half, revealing his true form to be a chest-high wall.
Let's Play turning into a giant camwhore festival.

You forgot Capcom on that list

secretcode4052d ago

Capcom is a whole different list.

Aliens and The Walking of Duty were released recently and that's just speaking of recently

Mutant-Spud4052d ago (Edited 4052d ago )

The real fun was in co-op.

TheGrimBunny4052d ago

Great post, I like these Saints Row articles from GamersBliss.com - I want the new game to be good SOOO BADLY and prey that they have done some changes to take us to the past or give of a new sense of familiar joy.

Decaf_PIxel_Kat4052d ago

I have faith that the forth game will be awesome! I am looking forward to the insanity.

atron734052d ago

Oh yeah, games are supposed to be fun to play and not to just try to break your video card?

Samuel-Rodrigues4051d ago

If they just brought back the more in-depth customization that was missing in the third i would be more than happy to pick this up.

Slightly disappointing game but Wo Long had a good creator. I was impressed by Oblivion back in what 05, 06? But the worst i have ever seen, clearly, Valheim.

ModsDoBetter362d ago

What was up with Wo Long?

Not looked at any reviews and did download it on my Xbox before I sold the console but never got around to playing it. Saw it drop in price on PS5 and was thinking of picking it up.

RE: Character creation

Oblivion hold a special place for me, when it came out on PS3, it was the first game of its kind that I had played and the character creator took was amazing.

I do like Monster Hunter: World & FFXIV, personally.
Cyberpunk did good in that department, despite its numerous flaws.

IamTylerDurden1362d ago

I played Oblivion day 1 on 360 and was impressed with the creator. Damn near 20 yrs ago, it was impressive at the time. Special game, unfortunately 90% of current gamers on social media have not a clue about the older stuff. Elder Scrolls is just Skyrim to many. They know not of Gothic and the old guard that paved the way. Flimsy ass rhetoric and recycled opinions about the same bs is what garners attention. Meme culture. Insight and intellect hold no place on the current day internet. Fuck likes, follows, BS. I say what i believe is relevant, what i'm interested in, and following means fuck all bc i don't respect 99% of the ppl online anyway.

For the "TLDR" bs. I'ma not space it out on purpose. Fuck you very much folks.

isarai363d ago (Edited 363d ago )

Honestly the one I remember being easiest and flexible enough to make any character I imagined was the PS2 WWE games, and Saints Row 2. I did really enjoy Dragons dogmas character creation too

IamTylerDurden1362d ago (Edited 362d ago )

I was gonna mention Black Desert but the game is horrible so...

Creator was the best part.

Lol CP 2077 is one of the easiest and less detailed editors around. It's all a mish-mash of presets.

The Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak from the Gran Turismo series

Nissan Skyline from Need for Speed Underground

Motorcycle Steamroller from Dead Rising 3

And finally a car you never drive but saves your ass over and over : Honey Badger from COD MW2

Gardenia466d ago

I was thinking of Mad Max. That V8 felt really good to drive around in, especially with upgrades.

dumahim466d ago

No one liked the Batmobile in Arkham Knight. Top 10?

toxic-inferno466d ago

I don't know... It was a strange addition to the game, and the parts of the game where you had to fight in it were tedious. But driving it around Gotham felt brilliant.

Volition's Saints Row 4 PC upgrade was meant to be a make-good, but it broke the game instead

Remember this year's Saints Row(opens in new tab)? Volition would probably prefer that you didn't, which might go some way to explaining why the studio recently decided to upgrade everyone's copy of Saints Row 4(opens in new tab) to its full-fat Re-elected Edition, containing all the game's story and cosmetic DLC and even introducing cross-play between Steam, Epic, and GOG versions of the game.

Unfortunately, that upgrade seems to have backfired, and players now report a myriad of bugs with their new version of SR4. Both the Saints Row Steam forums(opens in new tab) and subreddit(opens in new tab) are filled with players complaining of broken saves, crashes, and mods failing to function. It's also received a few hundred negative Steam reviews(opens in new tab) since the update. If it's succeeded in washing the taste of Saints Row (2022) out of players' mouths, it's only because it tastes even worse.

crazyCoconuts495d ago

I wonder if Volition's getting reorged under Gearbox impacted the quality of their release.

jeromeface494d ago

i can't help but laugh at this comment. Gearbox can't even run themselves.
