Five Best Boss Battles from God of War

UM writes: I’m not going to lie, I bought a PlayStation 3 just so I could play the God of War games. I almost bought a PlayStation Portable for Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta, but then the lovely people in charge rereleased the games in a combo pack (much like they did for God of War and God of War II) for the PS3. I couldn’t have been happier.

So, after smashing through GOW I, II, and III, I waited patiently for the other two and ripped through them as well. If you haven’t played the games, I can tell you this: God of War has some amazingly huge and powerful bosses. This paired with Kratos, our antihero, and his vengeance-fueled rage against Olympus and ungodly strength make the games wildly entertaining and equally rewarding.

Poseidon in GOW III was the coolest opening boss in any game imo.

I am glad they didnt include any bosses from GoW:A. I love the series, but that was a disappointment.

I liked Ascension a lot more than GoWIII. It was more in line with the original GoW I and II. In III you were running from boss to boss and Kratos didn't realize after killing every god that he didn't need 'the power to kill a god' from Pandoras Box. That was lazy story writing if ever I saw one and that after the amazing firt 2 parts and Ghost of Sparta.

well, for me GOWA is the best GOW game or at least on the same level as GOW2 (which is the best GOW game for me )

@KUZ1977 You're fucking stupid. In God of War III Kratos needed the power to beat Zeus, not just any old God but the king of them all a.k.a. the most powerful God in Greek Mythology. In the end Kratos didn't need Pandora's Box but he needed Pandora herself who had the ability to unlock the power within Kratos that he had since first opening the box in GoW1. Not that you'd understand. God of War III had an amazing story/writing it's just that a lot of morons couldn't comprehend it.

God of War III is easily the best in the series in every way. Anyone who says the first 2 are better need to take your rose-tinted glasses off and if anyone says the PSP games are better you need psychotherapy.

Anyway God of War: Ascension is a great game, 3rd best in the series after 3>2 and the Hecatonchires & final boss fights were up there with the most epic & greatest boss battles in the series.

i know its not a Boss battle, but theres this battle in GOW3 where you're about to escape hell, and monsters come at u non stop! one of the hardest fights ive ever had! even on normal mode it was a pain in the ASS

What about Cronos from GOW III?
What about the Hecatonchires from GOW Acension?
What about Herecules from GOW III?
What about Hades from GOW III?
Ah, there's just too many epic GOW boss battles to narrow down to just five.

As much as I LOVE GoW 3, all my favorites are from GoW 2...it had it all, quantity (like 13 bosses), quality, variety...from the giant statue, to the vortex-creating, flying griffin dark rider with spear of destiny guy, to the invisible guy, Return of the Barbarian King, to the 2D shaded boss fight, to the sisters of fate and that Atropos plot twist, to the epic final conclusion with Zeus (kinda had more emotional impact since he was really a cunt then)

From GoW 3 it's gotta be the Hades/Poseidon fights

Might be in a minority here but I didn't enjoy any of the sections playing as Atreus or having companions at all. If I had my way it'd be Kratos on his lonesome from start to finish. Straightforward action gameplay without the endless boring chatter.
