Vita sales were "quite low" in the run-up to Christmas but "absolutely exploded" at the height of the festive season, according to Sony Computer Entertainment UK MD Fergal Gara.
It turns out that many moons ago, Microsoft once had its eye on the Sony published LittleBigPlanet series.
Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.
They're scum.
"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."
Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.
Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.
But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?
Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.
While gamers usually take notice of the mainline missions, these 5 side quests deserve more widespread attention for how entertaining they are.
Final Fantasy 7 has come back under the spotlight thanks to the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but is it worth replaying the original?
Very much so. Graphically it's dated but the story and the gameplay haven't aged a day. It's still one of my all time favourite RPGs and for me is better than Remake in some ways.
I wouldn't say they exploded per se, but that Amazon bundle definitely helped. Anyway, I find myself playing Vita more this month than last year, which is a good sign. More original software will go a long way to giving this impressive system a great shot.
. . .and that is why we reduced our sales forecast by millions yet again.
I could care less, that's their problem, I do care about games so how about bringing more AAA games to the system Sony?
So it sold 100 units in a month instead of 10 big whoop Sony. Give numbers and stop reducing sales forecasts because the spin is embarrassing.
everyone buy Disgaea 3 and Persona 4 for your Vita :)
also look out for Ys Memories of Celceta this fall
