A step by step guide with examples of Linux games for PC
Despite an insurmountable lead for Windows, MacOS has been in second place. Thanks to the Steam Deck, Linux has overtaken Apple's OS on Steam.
Really just tells you how small the MacOS gaming market was even after all this time.
That’s awesome, well deserved. I love my Steam Deck. Steam OS is fantastic at this point. I can do almost anything on Deck with desktop mode that I use my normal laptop for. Since launch it has constantly improved. One of my favorite devices ever
This comes after AMD's decision to incorporate Linux into their hardware.
TwilioQuest combines RPG elements and a SNES art style to make programming easier to learn for all. Instead of endlessly searching for the right guide, TwilioQuest turns programming into a fun and rewarding game.
Very well written article. I'm glad Valve is taking this on. Anyone know how well Ubuntu co-exists with Win8 on a separate partition? I played around with WUBI, but of course would prefer a pure installation
nice! Well written and informative! Good work!!
More Linux games means more games ported to OpenGL which means more mac games.
I'm one that's been using linux for a very long time. I presently have,
1x pfSense (FreeBSD) firewall
2x Zentyal & ClearOS (Linux) servers
4x dual booted Win7 & Ubuntu 12.04 (Linux) PC's
1x Hackintosh (Mac 10.8) PC (family Mac)
2x dual booted Win7 & Ubuntu 12.04 (Linux) Laptops.
(and yeah my electric bill is killer every month)
In my family, we use Ubuntu as our primary desktop OS and use Win7 for gaming & other small tasks, the Mac is mainly used for editing & rendering movies. I've taught my 2 daughters (18 & 12) how to fluently use all the OS's and they prefer to use Ubuntu out of the lot.
The girls presently play their Sims, Nancy Drew & Minecraft games on Windows, but they so are looking forward to day they can easily play their games on Ubuntu.
I'm on the Steam Beta and am loving it, I can't wait for more native linux games to be released. For the time being TF2 Beta is a blast to play. Having to mess with M$'s .dll files in Wine over the years has been a pain in arse, so I've just went with Windows. Hopefully, I can do purely Linux in the future.
Way too much effort for such minimal to zero payout.
Hackintosh, wow just get a pc for half the price and 2-3 times the power. No brainer there, imo.
