MasonicGamer.com - Okay, hear me out on this one, for my meaning may not be immediately apparent, but I think Angry Birds could be this generation’s Super Mario Bros. Sacrilege, I hear you cry, for how could I possibly compare a mobile phone title to one of the most iconic and influential video games ever created? Understand that I’m not comparing quality or gameplay, but simply the degree to which Angry Birds has gained public mindshare.
Super Mario Bros. is the game that everyone knows. Adults who don’t even play games are sure to be familiar with Mario, and probably have fond memories of playing as a child. Now, the adults who’ve long left their gaming childhoods behind have children of their own. They probably couldn’t name most of the games and characters their kids are into, but I’ll bet they could name Angry Birds.
The Japan-based entertainment conglomerate is expected to pay about $1 billion for Rovio Entertainment.
Wait, have they even made anything since then? Thought they were a one-hit wonder lol.
Rovio should be embarrassed over the way it's handled Angry Birds.
Rovio has released a statment saying that Angry Birds popularity means its culling on Android after Thursday 23rd Feb 2023.
Hilarious they see what the market wants, and instead of making more things like that, kills it and is trying to funnel people towards a worse prodcut because GaaS trash makes them more money. Why did they even remake the game and sell it for a buck in the first place then?! The version they're killing hasn't even been out a year.
Also, completely removing from Google Play, but renaming on Apple? Why removing on one and keeping on the other?
This is why I love Android. You can go to a site like apk mirror and download the apk cracked and install it. Also you can torrent hundreds of Android games so easily. They can pull anything they want off the store I wouldn't care less 🤣
This is why mobile games need to die once and for all. These companies are hilarious. I understand they need to make money but this is just an insult.
lolnope
Yeah no.
Ask around and everybody knows and plays angry birds. So i would say yes. Only nerds would say no
It could be, based on how much of a impact it has on the younger generation.
You will see people who deny this, these people are those who were very much like today's children with Mario instead of a round bird.
All is speculation, but outright denying the possibility without thought is immature.
Only the future will tell.
Come and talk when angry birds stay relevant for five more years, let alone 25!
