Pixel Lated: Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub-Zero

The PS1 saw a lot of crappy games. Today, DigitalNoob plays Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub-Zero. Is the game as bad as the stories say? Come on, you probably already know the answer…but the video is there to watch just in case you’re not sure.

It was the horrible game design that made the game suck. The platforming in that second level with Fujin was a joke. You had to time those jumps perfectly, and if you missed one, you had to start from way back in the level.

The premise was nice, but the execution was poor. I managed to get 14 bucks for it over the summer. Seems it's so notoriously bad that people want to be able to say that they own one of the worst games in the PS1 era lol.

I'm proud to say I've owned this game. So many memories but the cutscenes are by far the most vivid. Quan chi was fkn hilarious

Haha yeah beat this as a youngster, also messing with gameshark having quan chi say, "I want to eat my cuppcakke!"

Hahaha I loved this game never could finish it though it was super hard. Defeating Scorpion in the first level was the best I could do. The second level was where I use to get stuck the fan type things you had to jump on were impossibile... Still brings back great memories though. The cut scenes were hilarious live action and the bloopers were hilarious.

I brought this game when released and it was hell finishing it if I was not a big fan of sub zero I would have shelved it the voice overs, the live action scenes was cheesy.

I actually liked this game when it released on ps1

Scissorman821172d ago

Seeing this reminds me that we could use another Shaolin Monks style spinoff.

Why do terrible N64 games live in infamy?

Games Asylum: "Question is, then, what’s so special about the N64’s worst games? It’s almost as if they’ve been granted special status within the halls of video gaming. If you care to indulge, we have a few theories about why the likes of Superman 64 have remained in our collective minds instead of fading into obscurity."

Bubsy 3D is just as infamous as any of these titles

FloydianAndroid2129d ago

I’m not a big fan of the n64 graphically. I prefer the snes in every way.

TFJWM2128d ago

umm graphics by far are better on n64...It is like saying I like the graphics of ps1 over ps2

NonShinyGoose2128d ago

The N64's graphics have aged badly. Like, really badly. Developers were chasing 'photorealism' at a time when it simply wasn't possible. The textures are known for being horribly fuzzy too.

2D visuals are often more abstract or artistic, so they don't age as badly. Particularly on the 16-bit systems.

FloydianAndroid2128d ago

Actually it’s not like the difference between ps1 and ps2 at all. If you go
Back and look at games from snes and n64, the snes games hold up a lot better especially in art style. There were some nice looking games on n64 but most looked really rough.

P_Bomb2128d ago

I agree with Floyd and Goose.

strayanalog2128d ago

Not just the N64, but that entire era houses mistakes; every generation does. The 5th Gen is the benchmark of what we primarily game on, and like an old yearbook we tend to look back to shake our head at our mistakes, choices, or revel in it.
