ZombiU has no idea what it wants to be. On the surface, it's a first-person game with arcade pretensions that awards points based on how long you survive. But beneath that is a predilection for realism, narrative and verisimilitude that violently clashes with its pick-up-and-play style. It's neither fast-paced fun nor weighty horror; it wants to be a "core" survival game, but also has the responsibilities of a Wii U launch title.
HPP's Josh crafts an unholy list of the Top 8 Spooky Games In Need a Sequel That Originated on Nintendo Platforms. From old to new, a gory list to dream about.
The title says the criteria was explicitly written to mention Eternal Darkness. I am happy to see House of the Dead: OVERKILL on here. With the rise of Grindhouse themes in the 2010s, (ie WET), this was one that was both entertaining and camp funny.
Would be nice to see a new Zombie game set in the UK again, some of the landmarks, old architecture and the like really fits in well with the genre.
Neil writes: "It's been a strange few weeks in the gaming world, with Triple-A releases continuing to be pushed back, allowing for the indie game scene to rule the roost. But if you're one of those players who are struggling to find games to play then the Xbox Deals With Gold and Spotlight Sale is back to ensure that backlog of gaming experiences continues to grow. London's a fantastic city, so it's no wonder it's featured in so many games. Here are 10 of the best video game representations of England's capital.
No thank you Gamespew. Not flipping through single pages of ads.
Also speaking of London, I'm pretty pumped for BLOOD AND TRUTH on PSVR
Zombi U knows Exactly what it it. True survival horror. I guess judging from the reviews, some are really good reviews and some are really bad. I guess that for this game more than most games, it is really up to your taste in games. I for one if I were to review it would give it around an 8.0. Its moody, atmospheric, tense, scary, and can be pretty damn hard.
I couldn't disagree with this review more. Multiplayer is excellent, giving both players a completely different but equally exciting experience. The core single-player is brutally hard but still fun (and terrifying).
I'm sure the game isn't for everybody but I don't think the reviewer in this article actually "gets" ZombieU.

This reviewer is an idiot. There is no way this game should be scored below an 8.5 out of 10. Yes there are several ways version 2 can and will improve on this. But this game is unique in its gameplay schemes and should be measured as such.
