I thought this game had a ton of potential. From what I've seen, Sony's marketing doesn't agree with me.

strangelove4170d ago

I wasn't even aware of the fact that it was released until just a few days ago.

In the UK i am suprised at the amount of adverts for this compared to the likes of the Wii U (I would have expected it to be the other way round). I was watching morning rubbish on TV and every break had an advert for Wonderbook or a Sony Playstation advert (which also featured Wonderbook). I think they are marketing this very well (well in the UK they are)

harrisk9544169d ago

My 9-year old wanted it and I got it on Amazon for $19.99 (50% off list price)! I love Amazon!

fei-hung4169d ago

Yup, nor did I. Went to pre-order PSABR and I seen it on the shelf.

I ended up buying it (Book and game pack) for my nephews and nieces who always come around, but I have a confession to make, when they left, I had to have a go at it myself.

Although it isn't challenging for core gamers, it is interesting and fun. It's like a dynamic, magical story book with mini games built in and awesome AR tricks that make you chuckle here and there.

Can't wait for Walking with Dinasours. Hope this venture really works out for SOny as it is some of the best PS EYE and Move combo I have seen and I would love to see more of it.

@iamnsuperman

according to your own words,

Adverts during rubbish TV, dosn't sound all that great.

I think Wonderbook is poised to be the next big thing for the younger set. It's a creative way to get kids to read and learn. Coming out the gate with Harry Potter doesn't hurt, and when they get more titles for this it will get even bigger. Sony does market this stuff, just not to us. We all made fun of it back during E3 remember.;)

DeadSpaced4170d ago

I know I'm being a dead horse, but the E3 presentation was awful. However, I could see some potential in it.

sarshelyam4170d ago

I have to agree, though it was a horrible position to be in. That poor woman repeated the gesture incorrectly, became flustered, and the more attempts she made, the more incorrect they were. She was stressed out and making the game look horrible.

That said, I've played it and it's fantastic! My kids are loving it.

iceman064170d ago

Beyond gaming...yeah...I actually said that, this peripheral has a huge upside if done correctly. As I watched someone play the game on Twitch TV, I was intrigued by the possibilities that might exist in education. I could imagine a line of science related materials such as interactive labs, space "exploration", etc. It could be used for history lessons that provide interactive environments while telling the story that surrounds the particular event. These lessons could be "scaled" accordingly for age...but extend to all ages. If you gotta study and learn...why not do it on the PS3!?!?

The poor old Vita. Still travels with me to this day...

BiggerBoss2148d ago

The Vita was such a tragedy.

It was such a powerful handheld, but consumers just didn't latch onto it.

Yi-Long2148d ago (Edited 2148d ago )

Great screen, great specs, but ridiculously overpriced memory cards quickly made it a non-starter for many. Even when I had one, I wouldn't buy games for the simple reason my 8/16 GB card was full, and it would have cost too much money to buy a new one, and I didn't want to remove the games which were on it.

Bought a 64GB card in Hong Kong last year orso, where it was actually affordable, but back in Holland a simple 32GB card would have cost me at least as much as I paid for the 64GB card in HK.

SierraGuy2147d ago (Edited 2147d ago )

Way better than Switch. Ahead of it's time if you ask me and probably collectible one day.

yellowgerbil2148d ago

The best lineup ever. Most were cancelled or not released and those that have are mediocre

BiggerBoss2148d ago

Lmao, best lineup in Xbox history.

Gotta love it.

DialgaMarine2148d ago (Edited 2148d ago )

I thought they were going to list PS3 because of the tags lol

Also, if you’re going to include Wonder Book, might as well throw Kinect in as well. Sesame Street, anyone? lol

PhantomS422148d ago

Don't you dare talk smack about Skittles the tiger! Agreed though a lot of those demos were hilarious and painful to watch.

The 10th Rider2148d ago

To be fair though, from a sales perspective Kinect was a huge success. It also had a fair number of games that weere a critical success.

DialgaMarine2148d ago

True, but its far better known for its blunders, such as being the thing Rare was forced to make crappy games for, and one of the most embarrassingly bad Star Wars game in recebt memory. It also kindof fell the map pretty quickly, and played a huge role in botching Xbone’s launch.

Segata2148d ago

Wii U, Wii Motion Sensor, Wonderbook, Kinect,Vita 3G AT&T, Wii Music, PS3 Price, US Saturn Launch "Saturnday" ,Game Boy Advance Micro. Are some of mine. I can't remember if Matrix Online was announced at E3 but SEGA was hyping it up as something SEGA fans were asking for and making it sound like a massive deal. Then never heard about it again.

Imalwaysright2148d ago (Edited 2148d ago )

The Sega Saturn has got to be the worse. "Hey the console is on the shelves right now... surprise!! Oh and it costs $400" and right after Sega's conference comes Sony and says that the PS1, a console that unlike the Saturn was designed to offer fully realized 3D worlds for the players to immerse themselves in, costs $300. That day marked the beggining of the end for Sega's hardware.

Wonderbook expands into dinosaurs investigating Harry Potter’s potions on Nov. 12

Remember Wonderbook? If perchance its previous Book of Spells reminded you that you’re young at heart, there’s three more Wonderbooks on the way, including another Harry Potter: Book of Potions. Alongside the recipe book, there will also be a Wonderbook version of the BBC Documentary Walking with Dinosaurs and a kids detective story called Diggs Nightcrawler which was announced sometime last year and then disappeared mysteriously into Europe.
