5 Things We Want to See in Dragon Age 3: Inquisition

From the PlanetPlayStation.com feature article:

"Earlier last week, BioWare officially announced it’s working on the third installment of its popular role-playing game franchise, Dragon Age, and it’s turning to fans for help. “We’ve visited message boards, read reviews, and we’ve gone to events to have direct face to face conversations with some of our most passionate fans. We’ve been listening, and we will continue to listen,” Executive Producer Mark Darrah wrote in an open letter on the official website."

Will buy this game on one condition that the people behind 2 are not involved in 3 ,cause that game sucked arse.

I disagree. If it had come out first and we had never heard of Dragon Age Origins, it would have been viewed as a serviceable RPG, because it was. There wasn't anything terrible about it. Combat was fun, areas started to get a bit repetitive, storey was nothing to write home about - but it was a fun game.

But the problem was Dragon Age Origins was fantastic and to me, felt like a spiritual successor to the Baldur's Gate franchise. When you hold DA2 up to the first, yeah...it's clearly not up to the standard set by the first game, but that certainly doesn't mean it was a bad game in my opinion. I enjoyed it and the only problems I really found were all to do with things they did differently from the first game that I missed.

If you're an RPG fan and haven't played either, I'd say start with the second, have fun and then play the first game. The second was certainly worth a play through for me.

As for the third game - Bioware, rpg players like loot. We like to manage our party inventory. We don't mind starting off in rags, because then we appreciate it more when we find that super rare armour that looks freakn cool, because we've been running around wearing a sack up to this point. You want to streamline party inventory, put a checkbox in there for those who don't care, but please, for the love of god, let us take control of our party equipment.

And none of this "only Mike Hawk can use that sword" crap. I get using this every now and then depending on class where it makes sense, but come on. That other guy can swing a sword just as well as my character can. That was maddening.

I agree that DA2 was a pretty servicable RPG. I enjoyed it despite its flaws and I'm looking forward to DA3. I'm a little worried, though, about what changes EA will try to implement (see #5).

areas started to get a bit repetitive, story was some what a little blah. that must been my problem i was expecting DO2 to be as good as the first. may have to play them in the order that you have recommended before DO3 arrives.

that was well said and even though i didnt like 2 and admittedly i bashed the hell out of it, id agree completely that most of that hatred stemmed from having played the first, first lol. to me DA:O is a 10. its one of the few games id truly give that score to and to this date still one of my fav games ever. tied in first as the best game this gen imo ( dark souls/the witcher 2 being its competition )

anyway, agree with every point you made. bubble up

(Spoiler-ish)

#6 Ability to save main chacters mother (that part was horrific) lousy city guards can't do anything right <eyes Aveline>

I want difficult relationships. Really enjoyed trying to get Morrigan to like me. But in 2 everyone kinda automatically liked you and wanted to sleep with you.

Dragon Age: Inquisition Retro Review – A Nostalgic Leap Short Of Legendary

Dragon Age: Inquisition, developed by BioWare, is the third installment in the cherished Dragon Age series. It represents a major evolution from its predecessor, Dragon Age II, incorporating elements that were well-loved in the original Dragon Age: Origins but also introducing new features that stand on their own. While Inquisition improves upon Dragon Age II in many respects, it falls short of the exceptional standards set by Origins.

The quality of these free games has been awesome. Before anyone says they are not free I was already giving Amazon $6 a month for prime shipping and video this isn't why I pay for my subscription

Teflon02910d ago

Still technically paying for it, even if it wasn't your intent. They've been giving out games with Twitch prime, they just changed the name. It's the same sub as that was. If you weren't aware, great. But you're paying for it.

That being said, I don't personally care. For me as long as you're willing to pay that for 1 service and get more. I personally take it as free. Like prime video, music though the prime version is trash, and all the Twitch benefits are all free to me because I didn't care about those when I got it. Just comes with it.

Only noted because that's technically wrong as a defense to that argument, whether I'm on yourside with the initial statement lol

mkis007910d ago

It's free to anyone who has already been paying. IDK why people need to split hairs.

TinkerNation910d ago

How does Prime Gaming work? Do you keep the games, or is it only as long as you have Prime?

Germaximus910d ago

lol Nice distraction from how they're now charging people to increase viewership. It's "just an option." /wink lol
