Skyrim 1.7 update for European PS3 owners finally to be released Monday

XMNR: While Xbox 360 owners everywhere and Playstation 3 owners in North America received The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim 1.7 update on August 9, European PS3 owners have had to do without. That will change soon though as Bethesda Softworks' Pete Hines communicated Saturday that the patch should be out at the start of the work week.

oh thank you bathesda its not like we paid the same full price as pc and xbox360 owners only to get a broken game. no more i am adding you in the same category as capcom wait for a GOTY edition with all the patches

whiule this gen has brought us a lot of good it has also brought us broken games that need many patches to fix it after launch

Furesis4261d ago

oh my fucking god! i'm tired of reading you people complain about the same shit, yes we know it's not perfect but could you at lest send your complaints to bethesda not here for me to read

showtimefolks4261d ago

how about this you don't read em han? no one is forcing you to do so. Same shit because gaming media are sheep they will never say anything negative and keep giving broken games like skyrim GOTY awards.

anyone can complain any where they want because paying full price for a broken game isn't fair business.

i hope this means dawnguard is coming soon

I think at this point Bethesda just wants PS3 owners to forget that this DLC even excited.

I understand that the PS3 is a different beast to program than the 360 and PC but come on man you made like 3 other games for the PS3 already...at this point you would think they would have mastered the PS3 like how Valve did with Portal.

I think Skyrim made so much money on the game alone that they dont care if the loose some sales from the PS3 fanbase.

NYC_Gamer4261d ago

That's why Bethesda games shouldn't be brought for full price

d0nT wOrrY4261d ago

yup, that's why I just bought it last week.

Judging by bethesdas ps3 forum,
This 1.7 should be avoided like the plague.
Nerfed draw distance and lagg are back!
D/L at your own risk!

turn off all auto saving and only keep one save file. problem solved

Oh_Yeah4261d ago (Edited 4261d ago )

the ps3 only players do get the crap side of certain games. its not bethesdas fault though, the ps3's ram is a challenge to work with in terms of games like these..it happened with red dead redemption also, rockstar had to dumb down the graphics slightly compared to the 360 version. either way, stop bitching, get another platform or dont buy them (ps3 only players), bethesda makes some of the most immersive content packed games. your missing out as a gamer if you dont play their games. ive played on both ps3 and 360..both are good enough. ps3 has faster load times while 360 has slightly better performance. go get yourself a gaming rig if your not happy.

SaffronCurse4261d ago

Gta4's performance on the 360 is pretty choppy even when the HDD is installed...Alot of pop ups. I haven't played the ps3 version so i don't know if the issue is apparent there.

Oh_Yeah4261d ago (Edited 4261d ago )

ive played both. they perform on par with each other for the most part maybe 360 is a bit better with screen tearing and fps idk? i prefer the ps3 version though, it has better color tones, more of a natural look..softer on the eyes too due to the blurring or whatever technique they used...plus psn is free. i mainly use my xbox for some of the exclusives and single player games that are better on it thats have no multi player, such as some bethesda games. fallout elder scrolls etc.

I'm Replaying Skyrim (again), and So Should You

Replaying Skyrim after 13 years is a reminder of the progress made in western RPGs over the last decade, but also what's been lost.

anast21d ago

I tried, but it's a poorly made game that insults its customers.

lucian22920d ago

nah, only mods make it decent, and even then it's bad, and this is after i modded for at least 3 years

Nittdarko20d ago

Funnily enough, I'm about to play it for the first time in VR with 1000 mods to make the game playable, as is the Bethesda way

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave20d ago (Edited 20d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
