Asda has revealed its in-store price for PlayStation Vita, knocking a cheeky £30 off the RRP of Sony's upcoming handheld.
Last week a rumour emerged that UK retailer ASDA (part of the Walmart group) would be dropping Nintendo's consoles from its shelves and the games would be going along with them.
Well, it turns out it's true. Sort of.
A shame but since sales are worse in the UK then they are in the US, this is long overdue.
I'm assuming the Vita got a similar treatment?
Its ashame this is happening as the wiiu is a great console. I do wonder what would of happened if they has not put Wii in the name. That said I'm happy with the IP's Nintendo are giving the wiiu and will continue to support it until the next console is released by Nintendo as so far their ips have lead the way so far this gen for me.
Wii U is like that chubby woman that nobody wants to mess with but is arguably the best experience in the sack.
Xbox One bundle from UK retailer for less than £250.
Great deal from massive sony fan, still gonna wait though on my 1st MS console ever, gonna wait till quantum break releases then wait again for xmas bundles
Damn i wish i had such deals in my country since i still need to buy an xbox1 (and a wii u as well while we're at it) :(. In my country the $350 xbox1 ac unity bundle is selling for $475!
TheSixthAxis: ''Back in May, ASDA slashed the price of the Wii U by a whole £100, with other retailers following suit. Now once again you can get the Wii U Basic 8GB system for £149 or the Premium 32GB for £199, both of which are an absolute steal at that price since you’re getting the console as well as the expensive and well-built controller.''
The Wii-U really has to cut the price to be competitive with the new PS4 and xbone. The Wii-U is a pretty neat idea but for some reason it's just not selling well. The younger and casual gamers may be able to pick up the Wii-U if the price is right.
Amazon UK has matched those prices too - £199 for pro and £149 for basic. Weather this is for competitive reasons or because the price cut is official, I don't know.
But I gotta say, the Wii U is a steal at that price. Even if you just use it to play Nintendo games and have PS4/X1/PC as your main device, at less than 150 go buy it for the exclusives you know are coming.
AHHHHHHHH!!!!! And during the week of the steam sale and I have some stuff to sort out for a wedding next month! :/. Hope this happens again in the coming months.
I am seriously thinking of getting a WiiU just for the Box it came in!
I will need it to put my PS4 in at midnight launch so no one will try to mug me for it!
It seems like a fair price, but remember you basically require a memory card - not included - and probably a game.
The deal-powers that be have deemed this deal "not as good" as the deals from Play and Amazon.
I got a nice deal at HMV in store. Vita (Wifi) + Uncharted + Starter Pack + Pre-order pack for £230
"Online, Amazon and Play have frequently readjusted their bundle prices in an attempt to undercut each other"
Yeh tell me about it lol
Originally I had my pre order with Gamestation, then changed to Amazon and now changed to Play lol
I think if you're after Uncharted in your bundle play.com has the best deal. [£242.99 for Wifi, Uncharted and 8GB memory card]
HMV is offering Uncharted or Fifa free with the console for £229.99 in store, but remember that's without the memory card
But you don't get the free 8GB memory card like Amazon offers in their bundle, and that thing is worth £28. A memory card is mandatory, so Asda's price isn't really a better deal.
guys dont order from game.co.uk
they are charging £269.99 for wifi vita. fifa and 8gb card.
today they changed the pre orders so you dont get the pre order bonus
play.com are offering the same deal WITH the pre order bonus for £242.99
