Oh great this is amaing.....oh wait Europe hasn't even got them yet

Another US offer that would make me buy plus and yet we'll get something crappy over here.

By the time they release the rest of the good PS1 classics in Europe, especialy the UK....the PS4 will be announced. We better be able to transfer and play them next gen because I don't want to buy them again

puffkix4516d ago

Sigh. That sucks. Does game sharing work internationally?

DigitalRaptor4516d ago

Wish SCEE would get their heads out the sand and just bring these over. I mean I would honestly like to know how hard it is to get them licensed for Europe. It's been like 1-2 years already - they know we want them.

TheBlackMask4516d ago

Actually they had Spyro 2 on the store when the PS3 came out but then quickly took it off so really it's been 4 years but yeah they really got to get there act together they treat us like crap

Oh but you get those types of people who are like "They're trying as hard as they can, it takes a little while to get things licensed"......fair enough if it was 1-2 years but come on man....4 years now

Look at the imported games, they brought that in so they could speed up bringing the classics out yet how is it with get a game in japanese yet in america they have the same game but the american release version

Now these are some good games.

Spyro 1-3 are amazing, and I've beaten each one multiple times

15 Lost Features from Retro Gaming That We Miss Dearly

Retro games are now pretty much gone, and while they're a thing of the past, they had stuff in them that make them worth busting out an old system for.

I miss old game manuals. used to read them thoroughly haha

GigawattConduit2786d ago

I scanned that $%^& all the time, just for the heck of it. I loved manuals man

Kramerica132786d ago

When manuals started going away I was pretty upset. But I've come to realize they're really not necessary at all, and I buy almost everything digitally now anyway.

Master of Unlocking2784d ago

Same here. Can't believe they've progressively moved on to a point where we have to consider ourselves lucky if there's a single sheet of paper in the case to give a vague briefing on controls today.
I don't miss having to use memory cards or wired controllers or having to deal with games in 50Hz (something neither the japanese nor the americans have ever had to deal with) though,

Retro games are now pretty much gone, and they're a thing of the past.

I rather play Crash,Jax an Daxter,Ratchet and Clank,Metal Slug,Raiden,Gradius,Castlevani a,Super Metroid to name a few.
than Call of Duty,Destiny,Battlefield,Mass Effect etc.....

Playing video games all day on Xmas, PS1 and PS2 as a kid

<3

WeAreLegion3412d ago

Oddly enough, I play The Grinch on PS1 every December. One of the best licensed titles of the time.

XXXL3412d ago

I remember getting the original Legend of Zelda as a kid. First time I laid eyes on that gold beauty I was beside myself. Years later getting the SNES was a great memory too. I miss being a kid sometimes. I hope to envoke that nostalgia with my children.

DragoonsScaleLegends3412d ago

I think I have only got a game system for Christmas twice and that was the Original Xbox and PSP 1000. Both were amazing when I got them back in the day. But I think my favorite console I ever got was for a birthday and that was the Nintendo 64 with Mario Kart 64, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, and Army Men Sarge Heroes. But all of these were unexpected gifts that were so awesome opening up and being surprised. Also I have all of Nintendo and Sonys consoles and only the Original Xbox from Microsoft.

WeedyOne3412d ago

When i got my PS2 for Christmas, i wasnt expecting one due to low supply. Played Dynasty Warriors 2 all day!

I would love to see Spyro go back to its roots, I'd prefer a remake to start it off though.I love that game.

BananasGoldsteinberg3518d ago

I keep seeing it in my games list on PS3 and find myself wanting to boot it up but then I never do. Should stop doing that. I rented it when it came out and beat it in two days. Some tired days at school that week.

KingKelloggTheWH3518d ago

I've been playing it on and off for the past few months, it is still dang fun.

HOLDERofFOOD3518d ago

THIS. PLEASE ACTIVISION. MAKE IT HAPPEN. They could work back with insomniac the same way they are with Bungie for Destiny. It'd be great!

Hellsvacancy3518d ago

I had so much fun with these games when they first released, then I had that fun all over again when I played them and beat all with my daughter on the PS3

I'd love a new one

hkgamer3518d ago

i dont think activision will ever release a platformer without thinking about selling merchandises after the success of skylander.

ironfist923518d ago

They either continue rehashing their terrible success with Spyro/Skylanders, or let it die a quiet unceremonious death like Crash, instead of actually giving up the license, or making a proper game fans want.

hkgamer3518d ago

I think if they wanted to they could sell off or license out these characters.

However, I think many people rather create their own.

Companies also like to keep Ip to keep as company assets. Probably worth a lot more on paper then license it out and risk tarnishing their asset price.

Also like to mention that sony was prpbably close to making a crash game. Not sure whose decision it was to change it to knack though. Could be sony. Could be activision. Or maybe they didnt even get that far and changed plans even before dealing with acticision

mt3518d ago

current Spyro is the definition of ugliness.
