Holy trolling for hits article title Batman!!

BeardedGamerShow4523d ago

Or, if you watch the video, Sony has announced they're refocusing on younger gamers and families, leading many to ponder this question and I ADDRESS IT.

Holy commenting without watching, Batman!

Ron_Danger4523d ago

Then why didn't you just stop the article title at "The Bearded Gamer Show: Episode 14"?? Since you covered other things you could've just as easily had them as the article title...

Catoplepas4523d ago (Edited 4523d ago )

No what you did was take a statement out of context to purposely cause friction and by extension garner hits for your tinpot blog site.

Direct quote from CEO Jim Ryan just to piss on your bonfire:

"The core gamer will absolutely not be neglected. There’s going to be tons of great stuff for the core gamer but from our own studio, third parties there’s some quite interesting stuff happening in a number of areas which would allow us to open up a market that we accessed pretty successfully on both PS1 and PS3 but haven’t yet got to on PS3,” Ryan said.

buddymagoo4523d ago

Where is the guys beard. Just looks like an 80's porno tash to me. Misleading just like the headline.

iamnsuperman4523d ago

Like Catoplepas said you have taking something out of context. Sony are not moving to family games but allowing third party developers to do it for them. Their core teams are still going to create the games they do.

Do not take quotes out of context.

Machina-AX4523d ago

I'm not sure they could, even if they wanted to ^^

naznatips4523d ago

Er... what? No. They're not selling software very well to any gamer right now, but I don't see how they're abandoning anyone.

Parapraxis4523d ago

Their software is selling just fine.

naznatips4523d ago

You think so? Resistance 3 barely broke 600k worldwide, LBP2 sold less than half as much as LBP, Killzone 3 sold almost a million less than Killzone 2, inFamous 2 has yet to break 1 million (while inFamous easily broke 2) PSP software sales are completely dead in the west, and PS3 multiplats still sell less than their 360 counterparts despite a nearly equal amount of hardware sold.

So yeah, they make great games, and they aren't selling nearly as much as they should be. Franchise performance is declininng pretty much across the board (UC3 does look to be doing better than UC2, as an exception) and basically every single Sony-published game this year underperformed.

Hicken4523d ago

So you don't think R3 will sell a million, since it's already 3/5 of the way there? KZ3 sold a million less than KZ2, but how much did KZ2 sell? Same with LBP2: it may have only sold half as much, but how much did LBP sell, and how many sales were uncounteed digital downloads? inFamous 2 hasn't broken a million yet, but it will, long before it's even a year old. And I love how you've left out the biggest of the Big Guns, UC3.

Not only did you NOT give actual numbers on anything you mentioned, but you leave out the game you absolutely can't deny is selling better than well.

What you'd like to imply is that the games are doing poorly by comparing them to their previous entries. But you're really just showing your ignorance, as all those games, having been out for two years or more, SHOULD have higher sales than games that just came out this year. Additionally, all of them- with the possible exception of KZ3- are on pace to sell more than or equal the amount of copies as their predecessors.

Oh, and like I said: digital distribution screws up your claims pretty badly on games like inFamous 2 and LBP2.

Runa2164523d ago

They see me trollin, they hatin!

And actually, Sony did say they were gonna focus on families and such, but they also said they weren't gonna abandon the core gamer. DON'T WORRY GUYS THEY SAID IT WOULD BE ALRIGHT!

MasterCornholio4523d ago

Whoah Sony abandoning the core? That will never happen Nintendo and Microsoft can do that but not Sony.

XperiaRay

_Aarix_4523d ago

theres a ample supply of core titles on all 3 major consoles. If anyone thinks differently then I can safely say they are completly idiotic.

MasterCornholio4523d ago

Thanks for calling me an idiot.

Jeez you don't have to be so sensitive to my comments.

XperiaRay

_Aarix_4523d ago

i didnt call you an idiot. You didnt say there wasnt ample supply of core games on the 360 or wii. But if youre thinking that then what I said was true.

mike1up4523d ago

I take it that you have never heard of the Playstation Move?

MysticStrummer4523d ago

I take it you haven't heard that Move has shown it can be used to play traditionally "core" game genres such as FPS, TPS, and RTS with great precision.

Sony Patents To Prevent You From In-Game Harassment By Reading Your Emotions

A new patent recently published by Sony wants to gather biometric data of gamers to track whether one is being harassed using AI tools.

Profchaos1d 13h ago (Edited 1d 13h ago )

I hope this is one of those patents that never comes to fruition.

I already dislike the fact you can pay a significant amount for a online service buy associated games and content on said service and get banned from that service over potentially a misunderstanding the bans are already handed out for flimsy reasons

I'd rather see money invested in a ban that simply removes the offensive players ability to communicate with unknown players allow them to continue party chats with friends but not with Joe blow on cod.

exputers1d 10h ago

Agreed. Blizzard recently banned a college Overwatch 2 player who's dependent for saying "shit." Pretty harsh.

Profchaos18h ago(Edited 18h ago)

How rediculas really. You can't say a word that's allowed in most PG films and prime time TV but the game is based around killing the enemy team using guns, explosives etc.

It's just backwards.

just_looken20h ago

What your talking about is called block list

In 2006 a spaceship dropped of the playstation 3/xbox 360 i say that that generation was the last great gen with game functions/tech that has yet to comeback

Anyhow the playstation 3 if you block listed a id they could not talk to you in chatroom with either text or voice. But that was pre mind fucked 2018 when people were more human than sheep.

But hey gta 6 is coming out billion dollar budget without a single player custom character creator and without singeplayer coop off/online something saints row 1-3 had on the xbox 360.

Take my social security and bank account numbers too! Here’s a picture of my wife and our address.

phoenixwing1d 5h ago

Cmon where's the pictures of your children. Don't hold out on them.

H91d 6h ago

At this rate I feel Sony will eventually sell a room to play games in it where they can monitor your every breath

jambola1d 2h ago

I genuinely get a bit worried sometimes when a friend says something that could be offensive In a party
Because I have no trouble believing some bans would happen when in a private party for saying something wrong

SegaSaturn6691d 5h ago

I want them to censor erotic content by measuring my groin temperature so i dont get too distracted while playing black ops 2.

Popsicle1d 4h ago

Terrible idea. Not only do I not consent to providing my biometric data, the potential for mishandling biometric data is almost a certainty. Positive stress and negative stress can produce similar changes in biometrics. Interpreting the precise emotion a person is feeling is not only invasive but could be easily misconstrued. I hope this never comes to fruition.

Sony Could Increase Your Game's Difficulty If It Sees You Complain About It

Sony has recently published a new patent that wants to dynamically handle the games' difficulty and gameplay based on the player's emotions.

jznrpg1d 22h ago

This is something I might use. Sometimes I play some good games but they don’t have difficulty option and are a little too easy.

Profchaos1d 21h ago

Souls games will be like that players struggling make it harder

PassNextquestion1d 20h ago (Edited 1d 20h ago )

I think if used correctly it could work well

jambola1d 16h ago

cool idea
cool idea for horror games especially
the way it's explained here sounds like it could never be forced hopefully, so that's ok with me

Call of Duty Players Disappointed by $80 B.E.A.S.T. Glove Bundle Deal

Recently, players of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone were met with a new bundle featuring the B.E.A.S.T. Glove, inspired by King Kong's armament in the Godzilla x Kong movie. However, the $80 price tag attached to this themed accessory left many Call of Duty fans feeling underwhelmed.

Morons that allow themselves to be milked continuously by this company is the definition of irony.
Spend more $$ and you'll end up In easier lobbies so you win both ways when ya spend that cash

Controversy in the COD community feels like it happens within an alternate timeline. Activision will take the piss with something, there will be a momentary fuss about it, and then they will forget about it and carry on anyway. Repeat this cycle literally every year for the rest of time.

Gridknac15d ago

They call that a crack head! Thats what this is really about, its an addiction. People who dont smoke cigarettes look and laugh at the addicts that spend $8-$10 a pack, but they cant help themselves, they are addicted. That same analogy applies perfectly to the whole MT industry. Only an addict that was not thinking clearly would spend this kind of money on something so frivolous. A round of multiplayer provides the same high a person gets from scratching a lotto ticket, or putting money on a sports bet. MT in general need to really be regulated because you have a generation of kids becoming adults who grew up only knowing the MT era of gaming. Its normal to them and they will in turn teach their kids the same by just being a gaming parent and getting their kids involved with them in gaming. Thats why no matter how ridiculous the headlines keep getting out of the MT industry, it never seems to fade or go away.

I'm so tired of hearing about what they're doing with this game, its never going to change and it's never going to value the consumer over money, furthermore the people who engage so heavily in the microtransactions I guess allegedly are having a blast and can't wait to do it some more this year when the new version of the game drops.
