Im only buying my PC games digitally on Steam or Origin these days.

Denzalo4660d ago

I buy alot of games digitally, unless it's a Collector's Edition that I want. Then it's all about the box!

Ranshak4660d ago

Same here havent gone to retail in 4 years. The only retail game i did buy in the last 4 years was star craft 2. Why buy from retail anyways?

When Digital platforms like D2D and Steam have such good prices. Fall out Vegas is currently on sale for 9usd?

Buying games from retail is just too expensive.

I still enjoy looking at the boxes

Consoles are next... and I don't know how I feel about it. For PCs it's a simpler decision because you're going to have to install the game anyway and use up hard drive space (which you can upgrade anyway). My 360 (250 GB) would be full if I had digitally bought and installed every game I've owned.

Ranshak4660d ago (Edited 4660d ago )

Well for PCs its different, a reason motivating us to buy Digital is because we get extremely cheap prices.

If consoles went mostly digital like PC, the prices would still remain high, because there would be nothing competeting XBL or PSN. Would just be 1 network per console. On PC we have so many platforms now Steam, D2D, Gog, Gamers gate, Origins and many others, all of that helps drive prices down.

Imo mostly digital only for console would be a very bad thing, because MS and Sony would have 100% control over their networks. Lol if the 2 of them decided no price cut, they would be raking profits.

I am the exact opposite as you... I prefer to buy my games as digital version. The only time I don't buy the digital version is when it is not available. I like the convience of not having to look at the physical catalog to load the game up.

I love physical copies due to the amount of HD space needed, and the deletion of old stuff if I wanted anything new.

Should have happened a long time ago. People wanting refunds after 50 hours in game.

Pc gamers will take this as an excuse to pirate things

KyRo12d ago

I'm not sure why you're getting disgrees. Whilst not all PC gamers are petty, an awful lot of them are lol

Crows9012d ago

Entirely untrue. Not any more petty than console gamers. The only large difference is console gamers don't have much of a choice.

Michiel198912d ago

Not sure why you're getting agrees. an awful lot of console gamers are overemotional twinks ready to go to war over a plastic box, I'll take being a pc gamer then.

Speaking about overgeneralizing much.

"X" type of gamer conversations are cringe

qalpha12d ago

Daily reminder that 'TheGamer' is a corporate-generated, anti-gamer, anti-consumer, clickbait web site. They are mostly A.I. generated articles that villainize gamers. They provide nothing positive and actively try to provoke and divide the community through extreme view points and politics. Do not give them any clicks.

Inverno12d ago

Only scumbags? As if people don't play their games on console put in the most amount of hours and return it to GameStop and trade it in for another game. But also how many people are actually do this? And what games have been allowed to be refunded?

DustMan12d ago

You can refund any game you've purchased as long as it hasn't been longer than two weeks, and you've played less than 2 hours. I wish they would change it to 3 hours because some RPG's have so much exposition that you may only get an hour total of complete gameplay. That's my only knock on it. I've refunded plenty of stuff I was just curious to try. I typically stay away from Early Access titles which are the only ones affected by this policy change.

Inverno12d ago

Apparently early access doesn't count, only complete games with a play early preorder bonus.

Gaming4Life198112d ago

I definitely know if I want a refund in 2 hours.

SegaSaturn66912d ago

I never liked refunding anything. Even if a film is bad, i dont want my money back. Sometimes things just aren't for me, and it's not the creator's fault necessarily.

Gaming4Life198112d ago

I feel you and i have never walked out on a bad movie cause I payed my money. I also don't refund games cause I'm a gamer and I know what to buy lol. I think having a digital refund is great.
