Too much computer gaming will turn your kids into "ignorant zombies', study says

Kids who play computer games for hours on end become "ignorant zombies" around the house, a study of parents revealed yesterday.

Researchers found mums and dads of kids aged seven to 15 notice a marked change in their children's behaviour after a long session on a games console.

Some went as far as to say their kids were "unreasonable"," ;aloof" or "angry" after spending longer than half an hour staring at their computer screen.

"Some went as far as to say their kids were "unreasonable"," ; ;aloof" or "angry" after spending longer than half an hour staring at their computer screen."

... so.... basically.... basically they were just behaving like ... ehm... you know... KIDS?!?!

Geez(!)

ATiElite4763d ago

Wow those are the same exact results from a kid...
watching TV
playing Yu-Gi-Oh
running around outside
Playing at Chuck E Cheese
having a sleep over
coming home from school
being told to do chores
eating too much candy
Waking up in the morning for school
being told to go to bed

or basically this crap happens when a Kid is doing something fun then all of sudden it's taken away.....sounds like a Kid just being a Kid.

So they went from already acting like zombies to acting like kids?

edit: someone said the same thing above. Great Minds.. ;)

Quote: ""This is contributing to few kids playing outdoors, getting fresh air and it's impacting on their school work and creativity.""

Yeah thats true if the parents let them. We are still talking about 7 to 12 year olds, right?

Quote: "One in four said they became "ignorant zombies", one in five said they became "little brats", while 28 per cent said they b e c a m e lethargic.?

Science!

ROFL

edit: I found this websites twitter is @daily_record and I let them know that article was total rubbish. :)

Asked to know what journal this data was taken from.

If your child becomes an Ignorant Zombie or lethargic after being told to get off the computer...well that's better than the Kid screaming like a Banshee and rolling around on the floor like a fish outta water before crying themselves to sleep or stopping by being bribed with candy or cartoons....

then the viscous cycle starts all over again when that's gone.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
