Ladies and Gentlemen;THIS is living!

sonarus5779d ago (Edited 5779d ago )

Just as i suspected. The guy actually said its still a concept so for all we know, in game xmb might not be here for another month. I tell you guys stop getting excited about this crap. In game xmb is a myth

5779d ago
BobDog5779d ago (Edited 5779d ago )

i reckon 2.4 has ingame xmb, people just use the word concept and beta to cover their arses incase it has probs

Condoleezza Rice5779d ago

Eric Lempel,05:06 in the video-"You'll have this VERY soon".

It's coming soon.Period.

sonarus5779d ago

Knowing that it exists changes nothing, we have known that for a while now. All that matters is when will i be downloading it.

MikeGdaGod5779d ago (Edited 5779d ago )

now we can start complaining about other stuff.......

where's the cross-game voice chat?
where's the video store?
where's Home?
why can't they update it so there's an IR sensor in there?
why do i have to put a game in the system when i want to play it?
why can't we play 360 games on our PS3's?
why can't my PS3 cook my dinner AND wash my clothes at the same time?
why do i have to buy games, can't you just GIVE them to us?

EDIT: @CrashSharc..........yes you're right

why can't we play two games at once?

i'm disappointed........lol

CrashSharc5779d ago

Can't Play TWO games At ONCE!?!?!?!?! But... but.... TEH CELLLL!!!!!

lol, jk. Can't wait for the update. Hopefully all the whiners will just SHUT UP now :P

Qbanboi5779d ago (Edited 5779d ago )

As soon as E3 comes..

Megaton5779d ago

Looking pretty good, and I really wanna see the trophy video. I'm much more curious about how that's going to work out.

I think it's safe to say it's dropping during E3? Better to drop something backed by this much anticipation in front of an E3 crowd (and the viewers at home) than silently in the night.

SixTwoTwo5779d ago (Edited 5779d ago )

Ok he said there will be a video for the trophies in a few days so I'm guessing we might see 2.4 next week. Damn I can't wait XDXDXD. Why are we paying for Live again??? Oh yeah because MS tells us its necessary okay XDXDXD

5779d ago
ChrisGTR15779d ago (Edited 5779d ago )

:( i was looking forward to playing 2 games at the same time. lol

zPlayer5779d ago

hey just so you know, in the vid he said that the sound track from the xmb is a concept not the in game xmb. its quick to make a judgment like that. especially when you saw it fully functioning.

SixTwoTwo5779d ago

Yeah damn Sony. Why can't I play MGS4 and Pain at the same time. 2.4 fails lol.

Polluted5779d ago

@scottie2521: You know I actually saw some guy whining about having to put in a game disc when he gets an invite in another thread.

MikeGdaGod5779d ago (Edited 5779d ago )

@ Polluted........

might have been me. i'm an @sshole when i'm sleepy. LOL

goodnight all

hardmetal5779d ago

Yeah, Do you wanna it ? Do you feel it?? LET ME HEAR IT!

LIVING BY ITSELF!

AlterEgo5779d ago

Sonarus, I know the deal, but I just can't stand to see you lose so many bubbles and get so many disagrees man...

When will the madness stop?!

;-)

Either way, w00t w00t would be most appropriate I guess right now...or maybe when we get a concrete release date.

Omegasyde5779d ago (Edited 5779d ago )

dude its coming. And soon, they wouldn't of posted a official if not.

The real question is what will remain in the ingame XMB,

1)You don't need Internet to browse while playing games,
2)You don't need to look at the PS Store while in game
3)The Settings is a plus but do we really need to check network connections during in game? I can see this actually creating probs.
4)do we need to change users while in game...
5) no mention of a playlist option...
6) "voice chat" was in "their concept" I doubt it will make it unfortunately. He would of mentioned that for sure since that itself would be the biggest feature.
7) in game switching to other titles is a plus, but we all know that some people are going to $%@# over their save files while the HDD indicator light is blinking.

Also Home Beta users are probably going to get a huge update with game launching actually working flawlessly. I have a feeling that is why 2.4 took so long.

And what the heck, WHY IS THIS UPDATE A 2.4 IT DESERVES A WHOLE NUMBER. 3.0 being it's the biggest firmware update yet. Its also huge enough to warrant a larger number based on specs and improvements.

Unless Sony is saving the 3.0 title for "home" launching....

EDIT: to the fellow below me:

Dude say all the smack while you can. Once "Home" hits which happens to have all of those features plus REMOTE PLAY. I think you will cancel your Live account definitely then. Heck Microsoft might have to make Xbox Live Free just to keep the subscriptions of all the multi-console owners active.

ofx3605779d ago (Edited 5779d ago )

I know alot of you fanboys were just soooo ecstatic to hear that the ps3 was finally catching up(sorta) to the 360...but wait wait wait...did you hear...You have to TURN OFF THE GAMES MUSIC to listen to your own music. HAHAHA leave it to sony to find some broke way to fix something j/k. But in my eyes the 360 has the still better online service. Even though cross game messaging is cool the 360 has alot more(cross game invites, cross game chat, UNIFIED SYSTEM, etc). Does it warrant $50 a YEAR, well that up to you. And before you tear me apart realize that this is not a fanboy comment, this is an opinion (plus I only own a PS3)

Edit: At the guy above me...(@ his Edit) Do you know this for certain or are you just another fanboy spouting thing you WISH would happen. Im going with the 2nd option

BobDog5779d ago

yeah ofx home is meant to do all that, but the question is

when is home gonna get here and when it launches will home contain all this, or will it be added to over time

SL1M DADDY5779d ago

With the addition of 2.40's in-game text massaging you will be able to send in-game and cross-game invites. I say this because the PS3 uses it's own massaging system for invites so they come to you like a standard message and you just have to click accept invite. Now with being able to access these messages in-game you will be able to see the invite and then accept. Of course, like all other games, even on the 360, you will have to quit your current game and insert the new game then accept the invite but they are cross-game no less.

Sorry, but once 2.40 hits, paying 50 bucks a year for Live will be without excuse. I play the PS3 and the 360 online all the time and to be honest, depending ont he game, they both are about the same in terms of lag and playability. COD4 plays exactly the same. UTIII is fast and furious, GT5:P is amazingly lag free and has 16 cars on the track. When the dev does what they need to do to make the online work, you get a flawless experience on the PSN and all for free.

Paying for an online gaming service has been silly for years as it has always been free on the PC and now that it is free on the PS3, there is little to no excuse as to why MS can't go with a free service.

And as for you having only a PS3... For some reason I have to say I doubt that...

ofx3605779d ago (Edited 5779d ago )

While i only have a ps3, i'm very happy about this. But to see sony fanboy go apesht about this and say "sad to see people pay for online" is just ridiculous. Ps3 maybe be catching up but it is still a LOOONG shot from Live. Live has GUARANTEED:Crossgame messaging, Crossgame invites, Crossgame chat, MSN, Video messaging, Ingame music, Crossgame invites, UNIFIED ONLINE, Achievements, etc. As for the ps3... nothing is guaranteed. Its more of a crap shoot, you might get this feature with this game but not with that game. Just look at MGO...sad. This is a step in the right direction for sony but they have a lot more steps to take before you fanboys start claiming superiority

p.s- Why would i spend $600 dollars on a console i dont like. (PSN-Ofx360)
p.s.s- GT:P lag free??? Thats a laugh. I dont know how many times i had a car slingshot in front of me, spin out of control, then start shooting up and down the road causing others(as well as me)to spin out. Probably just happens me though right?

mistertwoturbo5779d ago

Sonarus, you didn't pay too close attention to the guy talking. He was referring to the music controls as a concept that they're working on.

Other than that, finally in-game XMB. And finally millions more complaints about stuff that PSN doesn't have that live has.

Bubble Buddy5779d ago (Edited 5779d ago )

And that clock I've always wanted is finally there too. Good job Sony. Can't wait to use it.

Madmax12819805779d ago

what i find hillarious about this is that everybody is so exited about this considering the xbox 360 has had these features right out of the box from day one and was out one year earlier and on top of that supposedly rushed to market aswell.

if you intend to disagree id like to know why as what ive said is fact.

Time_Is_On_My_Side5779d ago (Edited 5779d ago )

lol, concept means that it's still undergoing its look it doesn't mean it isn't coming out.

Concept: an idea of something formed by mentally combining all its characteristics or particulars; a construct.

Developers will have artist that will make concept art as a rough draft for the final version. This is just giving us an idea of what it will be. So when released it might look different because it isn't the final version yet. With concept art it doesn't mean a certain character in a game won't be there but just might not look like that on the last stages.

In other words "concept" is another world for rough draft to give people an idea of the final vision.

LeSouteneur5779d ago

How many bubbles have you lost trying to get fanboy of the month?

Anyway, everyone say it together now: Go Sony! Go Sony! This is one HUGE update, thank Sony for giving it to us for free!

jdoggystyyle5779d ago

should just be called... (everything we can steal off of xbox live version 1.2)

rexor07175779d ago

It says it will be out on the 2nd.

jamesrocks31475779d ago

in game voice chat over all games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

come on sony make that 2.45 or 2.50 please

everybodys feedback you will get will request this the most next
so please then PSN owns more!!!

who agrees with me here? click it.

cool85779d ago (Edited 5779d ago )

its offial!

popup5778d ago

Omegasyde,

I think it may be quite cool to be able to check for help or tips if you get stuck by accessing google during the game you are playing.

thesummerofgeorge5778d ago

I love it! The in game XMB is so comprehensive, not a mini version, or a side bar... the whole f*ckin deal, and for the fair price of $0.00. All in the same summer that we get the movie store on PSN. It's gonna be an increasingly difficult task to argue PSN isn't the best online experience for the best price (or lack there of).

cito35th5778d ago

I DONT KNOW IF PEOPLE NOTICED BUT THE UPDATE IS SAID TO COME JULY 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!! YAY!!

Hi everyone! We know you’re all patiently waiting for the next PS3 firmware update, v2.40, which includes XMB access in-game and Trophy support. The good news is that it’s coming soon, and you can now see how accessing the XMB from in-game will work in this video demo.

Shortly, we’ll be posting another video here on the PlayStation.Blog that shows the Trophy feature in action for the first time. At that time we’ll provide even more details on how firmware v2.40 will enhance your PLAYSTATION 3 experience.

NDN_Shadow5779d ago

I can't wait for the second video actually. Looking forward to this FW update.

Proxy5779d ago

With the power of the CELL, I was hoping to be able to run two games at the same time.

LOL, J/K.

That was a lot of talk for just a few features, but those are exactly the features I want, and we all know PS3 is taking a huge step in the right direction with this one. Can't wait for the added communication this will bring with my friends and clan mates. :D

Time_Is_On_My_Side5779d ago

I think this video was more on proof that it is actually possible on the PlayStation 3. I consider the second video the real video because it will be Sony's answer to XBOX 360 Achievements.

Mugen Souls Retro Review – Sexy Demon Space Adventure

Gary Green said: We have a juxtaposition of 2D and 3D visuals, flashy turn-based combat, quirky anime characters with cheeky dialogue with plenty of partial nudity; Yes, this is a Compile Heart JRPG. Whilst the engine is borrowed from Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, Mugen Souls is more of a Disgaea spin-off. It’s not a strategy RPG as such, it merely sits within Disgaea’s ever-expanding universe (Multiverse? Netherverse? Your guess is as good as mine). You won’t find cameos though, since Mugen Souls is a franchise which aims to stand on its own two feet.

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

ChasterMies17h ago

Some of these low paid video game “news” writers weren’t born before 2007.

just_looken12h ago

Here here

Those that were around before 2000's i am sure are like me that think we entered a world of non readers or those that follow without question.

I can not wait to see fallout 3 a goty game even though it was about water with non content until you add the dlc/updates then you got the performance/crashing

CrimsonWing691d 4h ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker1d 4h ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo1d 3h ago (Edited 1d 3h ago )

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing691d 3h ago (Edited 1d 3h ago )

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

Profchaos1d ago (Edited 1d ago )

Isn't it just a generational thing realistically.

I've been gaming since way back and I some of my favourite games go as far back as the late 80s for me each generation has a year or two of game changing releases one after another before an inevitable dry spell.

I kind of agree gaming had a different feel games hit different because we didn't have the internet nothing got spoiled and you really had to put in the effort to beat a puzzle which could set entire groups of people looking for a solution. But most importantly games were experimental and not as cookie cutter as today even basics like controls were not universal today r2 is shoot l2 is ads garunteed you can't deviate from that in a shooter back then it could of been square, R1 or R1 and circle nothing was standard.

But as time moves on a new generation picks up their controller they are going to be interested in different things that PS1 demo disc with the t Rex blew our primitive 16 bit brains back on launch but to kids today it's laughable.
The new gen of kids coming into to hobby seem to value different things to us there seems to be a huge focus on online play, streamers, gaming personalities, and social experiences, convience of digital downloads. To me I value none of that but that's ok like my parents not liking the band's I would listen to its just the natural cycle.

Gameseeker_Frampt15h ago

Just about every year in the 7th generation was great and something we most likely won't experience again.

2009 for example had Assassin's Creed 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Dragon Age: Origins, Uncharted 2, Halo 3: ODST, Killzone 2, Borderlands, Bayonetta, and Demon's Souls to name a few.

just_looken12h ago

It still amazes me we got over 7 rockstar games ps2/ps3 but 3 for the ps3/ps4/ps5

Dragon age 1-3 and mass effect 1-3 in 7ish years what a generation.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos1d 9h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto1d 9h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger881d 8h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).

ChasterMies22h ago

Trevor in GTA 6 is a sadist and psychopath who dabbles in cannibalism. Should be top of the list. These game “news” sites should hire people that know games.
